@DeathbyMLSE @BobGolen Yes, but the ties are what makes the difference. When white men wiped "indians" from America, they somewhat surrendered because their beliefs don't make them hate other religions. Jews and Muslims are different because their religion does create hate so they can't live together.
I created a new concept in app development that I think is very useful for most applications. I define it as "IoC for application data", and it is meant to provide your app structures with hot, auto-reloaded, in-mem data, such as config, as a dependency

@tebeka@ardanlabs then sync.Once will cause an unexpected situation because it won't count all the calls but just the first.
And this is why I think that calling Once an idempotency solution might cause problems.
@tebeka@ardanlabs insert is not idempotent. In key value database, a put operation is idempotent.
Another way to look at the difference between idempotency and "run once" is if your operation is idempotent by nature but you decided to wrap it with sync.Once. If the operation is being measured 🧵
@tebeka@ardanlabs This description actually explains it. What sync.Once do is not applying anything when called the latter times. The result doesn't change because nothing is executed. The best way to understand it is by looking at db operations. In SQL with auto increment... 🧵
@levelsio What do you mean by optimising the DB? Your usage of it? I can help a lot with it. I'm deeply experienced with SQL in general and SQLite in particular. DM me
@jacksonhinkle Yea, it is so hard to murder innocent civilians but it did not stop those Israelis. Of course, they could murder innocent civilians outside of the hospital, but for real fun, they had to disguise themselves as doctors to reach innocent and helpless and kill them.
