Today was the first of many steps our candidates will take to become a firefighter! We started with 190+ applicants, cut to 147, and now 120+ took their written test today. Good luck to all of you!
At 5:10 pm today we were called out to a working entrapment. Our crews worked as a team to successfully extricate 3 individuals. All patients were alert and were transported to a nearby hospital. Great work!
Firefighter Stobaugh and Firefighter Velchek participated in the FCIC Firefighter Combat Challenge today! We could not be more proud of these two. FF Stobaugh is in 2nd and FF Velchek is in the top 25! We are excited for another full day of time trials tomorrow!
With a heavy heart, we express our deepest condolences to the members of Hendricks County Sherrif's Department. Deputy Fred Fislar was killed in the line of duty early Tuesday morning. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
We had a very busy evening last night. We are happy to report that all family members made it out of their home safely, along with their pet cat! The fire is still under investigation. This is a reminder to check your smoke alarms and please stay safe! ππ
Our Battalion Chief and engine 144 assisted our Public Educator yesterday afternoon at Avon Creek Apartments! It was the first of many safety lessons we will host at their clubhouse. This month we taught the residents how to use a fire extinguisher by utilizing our simulator!
We conducted a ladder and search training this week for all shifts. All members were successful while performing the task individually! Keep up the good work!
Today at our Township Board Meeting, we celebrated 2 of our members!
Lieutenant Doug Dickerson received an award for his 30 years of service. He is the only member of the department to hit this milestone!

Our fire prevention team hosted a fire investigation scenario at our fire investigation burn cells!

We are hosting a live fire training the next three days at our training ground.
A-shift was the first to attend and did a great job with the scenario they were given. Rain or shine, our members are always willing to work hard and practice their skills.
