Dr. Warren, I think you are speaking about vestiges of our unfallen nature which Adam possessed in Eden. This is related to the same concept that C.S. Lewis wrote about in The Problem of Pain (1940), Chapter 5 (“The Fall of Man”). Lewis describes unfallen humanity as having conscious, voluntary command over bodily processes that are now automatic, including tissue repair.

If this was the cultural understanding then they forgot about what happened 20+ years earlier during WWII. Here is the run down of women serving toward the war effort in the field of aviation (provided by Grok):
During World War II, women pilots in the United States and Britain ferried newly manufactured military aircraft from factories to training bases, repair depots, and ports of embarkation. Their work freed male pilots for combat and moved planes off production lines as quickly as factories could build them.

United States: Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP)
The U.S. program began in September 1942 as the Women’s Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron (WAFS) under Nancy Love, who recruited 27–28 already-experienced civilian pilots to fly trainers and light aircraft from factories. Jacqueline Cochran’s Women’s Flying Training Detachment then trained additional pilots. The two groups merged in August 1943 into the WASP. They remained civilians, received no military benefits at the time, and were deactivated on 20 December 1944.

Britain: Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA)
The ATA, formed in 1939, used civilian pilots of both sexes to deliver new and repaired aircraft from factories to RAF and Fleet Air Arm stations. Women were admitted from 1940; they first flew Hurricanes in July 1941 and Spitfires the following month. From 1943 they received equal pay with male ATA pilots. Two of the 16 ferry pools (Hamble and Cosford) were all-female.

Core statistics:
166–168 women served as ATA pilots (about one in eight of all ATA pilots), drawn from Britain and several other countries.

The ATA as a whole delivered more than 309,000 aircraft of 147 types and flew 415,000 hours.
Fourteen ATA women were killed, including the famous aviator Amy Johnson.
Women flew single-engine fighters, twin-engine types, and, in a few cases, four-engine bombers.

In 1980, when I got my first professional job, I had a salary that might have been enough to qualify for a mortgage but for the fact that the mortgage rates at that time were around 18%, yes, that not a typo eighteen percent. The rates were so high, that one new home builder I considered was offering a 5 year, no interest mortgage that he would personally hold. I wanted it so badly, but It was just barely out of reach for me.
Part of the problem is that so much of what is available are newly built McMansions, and not starter type homes.

Kudos to this man! Public education has been destroyed over the last several decades through all kinds of supposed "improvments," that are not improvments at all, but actually result in ignorant students. I'm sure that the students have the same basic starting aptitudes, but the ones shaping the clay are disfiguring it, rather than shaping it into a beautiful sculpture.
The other very large disadvantage for today's students are the family dynamics of fatherless homes and lack of the inculcation of discipline. There seems to be an epidemic of the lack of impulse control.
Meanwhile, the State of Mississippi is showing the world of education, if they even care to observe, how to do it: return to the tried and true teaching techniques used 100 years ago.

This is but one a many similar stories that have come out regarding medical professionals who have voiced strong political opinions in a way which brings into question whether that professional would treat you to the best of their ability regardless of your politics, or if they would sabotage your treatment because of your politics.
Medicine had been one place where neutrality reigned - any and everyone could expect like treatment, no matter who you are. Is it still? Professionals such as Lexie Lawler are diminishing that expectation, maybe even destroying it all together.
This is not about free speech, this is about a medical professional wishing physical harm on someone because of their politics. Provide a cogent argument that refutes the politics you disagree with -- that is free speech.
This is about protecting the medical profession, that we all rely on, such that we can be confident that in our time of need, we won't be denied the best available treatment simply because of our politics.

Exodus 21:23-25 ESV "But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
Many who read or hear this verse eschew it and believe it to be barbaric. However, the fact is that proportionate justice was established to -- prevent -- barbarism, in the form of ever escalating revenge between the original victim and family and the perpetrator and family.
With a trend towards leniency, the risk is reawakening the desire and drive towards vigilantism and cyclical revenge. This needs to stop and proportionate justice reestablished.
This appears to be a particularly grevious case of political violence. If "the magistrate" fails to show up, it will be a signal to those who use violence to achieve political objectives that it's open season on your political enemies. But you should know that if you are a leftist/socialist/communist, violence is baked into the cake; it is part of the "ethos" or perhaps the SOP of that political ideology.

When I was 6 years old, we lived on a somewhat busy street in a suburban town. I was in the 1st grade and my elementary school was about a 1/2 mile away. My parents --MADE-- me take tap dancing lessons at my school, which I detested and could not wait to get home from. Because of the busyness of street and the fact that there were no sidewalks and barely a shoulder, I was STRONGLY told NOT to attempt to walk home and was to wait for my father to pick me up. I decided that I would not heed that strongly issued command and walk home anyway. Knowing that I defied the rule I prepared myself for the punishment by putting one of my school books in the back of my pants to cover my buttocks. When the time came for the spanking to commence and the presense of the book became evident, my parents started to laugh so hard they could not administer the spanking.

Your statement is internally inconsistent: "We should be supporting . . . an immigration system rooted in . . . the rule of law . . . ." And what you call a "cruel immigration agenda" is the lawful enforcement of the immigration law. You've been in Congress for nearly 8 years, and what efforts have YOU made to build this immigration system you want?

You sponsored H.R. 8984, which was designed to inhibit the ability of immigration enforcement from the facilities they need to do their job.

The enforcement of existing law is not cruel in and of itself. What is cruel is allowing immigrants into this country under specious circumstances. Those immigrants who wait and take the legal and proper pathway to enter and contribute to our society are insulted by the laissez-faire, wink and a nod treatment given to anyone who shows up at the border after having been taught the "magic" words to say to the Border Patrol. The policies you oppose are the policies that will keep US Citizens and those immigrants, legally present, who have been vetted and properly allowed to enter safe from criminal elements and those likely to become a public charge.

The policy you are championing here promotes danger and insecurity in our cities and our neighborhoods. I am NOT anti-immigrant -- I AM anti un-vetted, unknown, un-processed, ne'er do wells, scoundrels, and violent criminals entering into our country, sowing chaos, violence and crime in our communities. The apparent policy of NYS and the City of Rochester is to shield those who fit that description by NOT releasing immigration status of those who have "encountered" the criminal justice system.
