@GreenJennyJones@KiranRaichura@jackwallington a single-issue party, or that climate change is something to be dealt with later after addressing unemployment or rising food prices. This idea may be incorrect, but it doesn’t mean that it’s not held by members of the public or shouldn’t be addressed. 2/2
@GreenJennyJones@KiranRaichura@jackwallington It’s not: it may be untrue that the Green Party is a single-issue party, or that environmental issues are secondary to rather than closely integrated with other issues eg cost of living, but there is a perception by some members of the public that the Green Party is … 1/?
@BurtonPixels@KentohW42194@WorldScholar_ Well, while Ely Carthedral is not from the so-called “dark ages”/early Middle Ages, nor were medieval people regularly burning witches, they didn’t think cats spread the plague, and this particular architectural style goes beyond classical Roman architecture.
@CultureExploreX@WorldScholar_ One of those manuscripts is 6-7 centuries younger than the rest, and definitely not “Dark Ages”/early medieval. You’ve also included two pages from the book of Kells - couldn’t you find four different illuminated early medieval manuscripts to choose from?
@TheImmortician@OptimoPrincipi But then why are they only made of copper? And why aren’t there any signs of wear on them? Similarly, did romans crochet? The extant roman socks are made using strang work; I don’t know of any extant gloves

@YercJesus@lottewrites@AtotheJayne @life_of_leelee @kimwexlcrs A pub in the UK is NOT the same as a bar; it’s kind of like an informal restaurant until 7PM ish, when it becomes more like a bar (but no one is really taking kids to a pub in the evening). So while taking kids to a bar is weird, taking them to a pub in the UK at lunchtime isn’t
@YercJesus@lottewrites@AtotheJayne @life_of_leelee @kimwexlcrs Why? Pubs provide a relaxed social space where whole families/friends can meet up, and some are better suited to families than restaurants (eg some have a garden, less formal, cheaper …). Also, why shouldn't children be taught social skills in different settings?
@cocopuff475 @AtotheJayne @life_of_leelee @kimwexlcrs In the UK, particularly lunchtime-afternoon, pubs are more of a restaurant/social space. No one would think twice about family/friends with kids going to the pub for lunch/meet up. Plenty of non-alcoholic drinks, food, snacks, sometimes a garden. It’s not the same as a bar.

@sonoftureen @ProfBillMcGuire@taylorswift13 Which surely invalidates the claim that he is stalking her: he's using public information to follow her private jet, which she may or may not be on, not following TS herself.
RT 🔒 re baby formula prices U.K.:
Important to know: Iceland (the Supermarket) sells baby formula at cost price on principle. It's against the law to promote this discount, hence word of mouth. If you know someone who's struggling to buy formula you can point them there.
@ChaiKamNamak @RomGothSam @JoanPassey@oldenoughtosay Just post Victorian, but the myth that medieval castles had clockwise spiral staircases to make it easier for right-handed swordsmen to defend was suggested in 1902 by an art histories with an interest in spirals, fencing, and left-handed people. https://t.co/ayDoRN2LiB
