Unfortunately, my official prediction re: Paz is that he will never play for Real Madrid, even though the club actually kept an €80 million option to bring him back. Similar situation than Achraf or Odegaard in the past.
Never understood why we've just allowed players to stick around & cash in their checks, sometimes for years, rather than force them out.
Madrid have acted this way for as long as I can remember. Only time club leadership takes a tough stance is contract renewals for 30+ yr olds.
🚨 JUST IN: Eduardo Camavinga’s situation remains UNCHANGED.
Real Madrid would welcome a TRANSFER but the player maintains his intention to STAY. @RubenMartinAS
@PortugalFPF would a 2nd place finish for portugal be one of those rare scenarios where the pathway is actually easier?
1st place means argentina in the quarters & I struggle to see how that’s ideal
@WestHam_Central it's also incredibly damning that portugal require a 41 year old to start in the world cup b/c they have yet to develop a single striker other than ronaldo in 20 years
@WestHam_Central if you actually watched the game yesterday, you'd know the midfield was dreadful. vitinha was incredibly conservative, bernardo silva was irrelevant, and bruno was a no-show up until about the 80th minute. ronaldo essentially got no service.
@PortugalFPF if roberto martinez can manage 2 golden generations and djed spence can make the england world cup squad, never give up on your dreams kids!
@RkFutbol spot on. it's quite damning that they require a 41 year old to be starting in their biggest games b/c they've failed to produce literally anyone else that can do that job even slightly
Alexi Lalas obviously sucks in a very specific way but it's also a very revealing look into American sports commentary that European legends of the game do nuanced tactical analysis while Lalas' job is to just be like "Jude Bellingham does NOT have the clutch gene!!!"
