Interesting thread about the actual environmental cost of recycling. If we can prioritize packaging-free purchases, we drive down the need for any of this nonsense. Unfortunately, manufacturers often push this environmental cost on and blame "the system"

@cperciva In a large house with many users and Wifi 6E this could become more relevant soon, but I agree that currently paying for >1Gbps is not really worth it, even for geeks like me. I am quite ok with 100/40Mbps for 25EUR tbh.

Internet infrastructure in #Sweden is owned by the cities and ISPs can provide services on top of that. They also have among the highest average Internet speeds in the world and close to 95% of the population using it. Germany take note!

Now see where, compared to the population size, most of the tech innovations/successful startups in Europe come from. Good Internet infrastructure is such an important basis for innovation and such a strong enabled, it's sad that Germany ignored that for so long.

@cyrus_zei @thekitze Always depends no? If you have a couple of zoom calls over the day, the time flexibility only goes so far. Add kids or a partner who is not remote working and leaving the country is not that easy either.

As someone who bought one of the first AMD Athlon K7 CPUs with 500Mhz in 1999 and later had a variety of AMD CPUs including Duron, Athlon XP and the last being a Phenom 2, I am so pumped to see AMD on top again after a decade of struggling to be competitive. #AMD #Ryzen #Zen3
