Can we also talk about how Wikipedia entries are no longer at the top of a search 😭

Call me biased, but this is what I'll always support. No amount of AI will replicate the artistry and heart of animation.

SEEE!!!! Nobody believed me when i said all the classics on Disney plus looked awful in ways they never did before!!! I KNEW I WASNT CRAZY

Good question…

I think about it often, it was basically instant and justified every climate warning we received for the last 25-30 years. There was always a chance to prevent everything

In 1988 Dolly Parton pulled every 7th and 8th grader in Sevier County into a room and told them to pick a buddy.

She made them sign a contract.. if BOTH graduate, she hands you both $500. One fails, nobody gets paid.

The county dropout rate went from 35% to 6%.

She handed out the checks herself.

In 1989 she offered $500 to every kid in the county who wanted to go to the local college.

When Gatlinburg burned in 2016, she sent 900 families $1,000 a month for six months.

You've probably heard that part.

Here's the part you haven't:

The fund raised more than expected, so she showed up in May and handed every one of those families another $5,000 on top.

Then she quietly put $3 million into the recovery group that handles the years after the news trucks leave.

She built her county an entire hospital.

She played a benefit concert in 2007, Dollywood and the Stampede matched it, and LeConte Medical Center opened in 2010 with a birthing unit and a women's center in it.

In 2022 she started covering 100% of tuition, books, and fees for Dollywood employees.

Full-time, part-time, AND seasonal.

In 1991 she paid for a bald eagle sanctuary because the birds couldn't be released back into the wild, no press release.

And when Hurricane Helene came through here in Western North Carolina, she wrote a personal check for $1 million and her companies matched it.

She didn't owe North Carolina anything, but she helped us anyway.

She started the Imagination Library because her daddy couldn't read or write. Before he passed, he told her it was the most important thing she ever did.

Rest in Peace, Dolly 🇺🇸

everyone get more camp and kind and tryhard and unabashed and sexy and a little sleazy or trashy and weird with it right fucking now!!!!

Our team, our local program partners, and every operational partner who helps make this program possible each month are heartbroken at the loss of our founder, Dolly Parton. (cont.)

We need to understand that a “cult” film doesn't mean a film you've never heard of - Dirty Dancing & Titanic aren't cult classics.

Cult classics are films that did poorly at the box office and became popular among a rapid group: Clue, Rocky Horror, Grease 2, The Room

DID YOU KNOW?

1. American milk is illegal in Europe. Too many chemicals.

2. US bread is considered cake in Europe. Too much sugar.

3. American eggs are illegal in UK. They wash off the natural protection.

4. US meat is banned in 160 countries. Because of hormones.

5. American apples are coated with wax that is also used for cars.

6. In the US, 60% of food contains stuff banned in other countries.

Maturing is realizing they never burned witches. They burned midwives, healers, herbalists, and knowledgeable women.
Women who understood medicine, nature, and their own autonomy. Women whose knowledge threatened patriarchal control. The "witch hunts" were never about magic, they were about silencing women who couldn't be controlled.

[Jeremy @jeremyct]

My sister in law works as a paramedic. 24 hour shifts sometimes back to back.

Makes $19 an hour.

Told me last week she watched a coworker get physically assaulted by a patient’s family member and still had to finish the call before getting checked out herself.

Meanwhile a hospital administrator two floors up makes $310,000 a year and has never touched a patient.

We pay the people saving lives less than we pay the people managing the spreadsheet about the people saving lives.

JUST IN: Murderers are often criticized for "killing people" but serial killers kill roughly 3x as much

[Siren the radical feminist @radfemsiren]

When feminists yell for decades about the male violence epidemic and men being 95% family annihilators, yall wave us off. But it took ONE woman doing it to get you to suddenly care oh so very much about children oh please

RFK Jr. is now suggesting we eat "alternative foods" due to the poisoning of our actual food supply.

Forgive me for asking, but
WHAT THE FUCK IS ALTERNATIVE FOODS???

[Cooper @Cooperstreaming]

It's funny how many men who engage in domestic abuse only "lose control" in private, where no one will stop them, and only "black out" and break their partners things, not their own.

He is in perfect control of himself and knows exactly what he is doing.

I haven't played about Mark Ruffalo since 2016 when he protested the DAPL alongside the Standing Rock Sioux tribe. He brought solar trailers to power the encampments and he wrote an op-ed in The Guardian
