Three years ago, on September 23rd, weeks before October 7th, Netanyahu stood before the United Nations and presented a map of what he called the “New Middle East” with Palestine erased from the map.
Since then, Gaza has endured an unprecedented campaign of destruction. Isr*eli bombardment has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians, displaced almost the entire population multiple times, and reduced vast areas of the Strip to ruins under siege. The UN estimates that more than 80% of Gaza’s structures have been damaged, including hundreds of thousands of homes.
Hospitals and schools have been damaged or destroyed. Families have been forced from one place to another, often with nowhere considered safe to go. Clean water, sanitation, shelter, food and medical care have remained severely restricted, while people continue to live among the ruins of their homes.
The destruction has not been limited to buildings. Entire neighbourhoods have been erased. Generations of families have been torn apart. Thousands remain missing beneath the rubble, while more than 60 million tonnes of debris have accumulated across Gaza.
And Gaza is not the only place where Palestinians have faced displacement and dispossession. Across the occupied West Bank, demolitions, settlement expansion, settler attacks and restrictions have continued to drive Palestinians from their homes and land. The UN has documented thousands of Palestinians displaced in this context since 2023.
Three years after that map was displayed at the United Nations, the consequences are impossible to ignore.
A map that erased Palestine was presented before the world.
What followed was the devastation of the people who live there.

“Siapa Penduduk Asal Palestin Sebelum Bani Israel?”
🎙️ Eric Cantona: “Defending Palestinian human rights does not mean you are pro-Hamas. Saying “Free Palestine” does not mean that we are anti-Semitic or that we want the disappearance of all Jews.
“Free Palestine” means freeing Palestinians from the Israeli occupation that has deprived them of their basic human rights for 75 years.
“Free Palestine” means stopping locking up 2.3 million Palestinians in the world’s largest open-air prison, half of whom are children.
“Free Palestine” means ending apartheid imposed by the Israeli government.
“Free Palestine” means giving Palestinians control of their country’s major infrastructure." 🇵🇸
Russia’s attacks against civilian infrastructure, especially electricity, are war crimes.
Cutting off men, women, children of water, electricity and heating with winter coming - these are acts of pure terror.
And we have to call it as such. https://t.co/3WY743k1iH
