Halting funding for the World Health Organization during a world health crisis is as dangerous as it sounds. Their work is slowing the spread of COVID-19 and if that work is stopped no other organization can replace them. The world needs @WHO now more than ever.
@davidshukmanbbc How is this news the top story at 2am on the @BBCNews app then tucked away in ‘science & environment’ by 7am? People need to read this! Climate change: ‘Clear and unequivocal’ emergency, say scientists #climateemergency https://t.co/lZNICJuSrC
The Common Frog is a regular visitor to garden ponds at this time of year. They help to clear out slugs and snails, so are a great reason to have a pond if you don't already have one! In winter, they hibernate in pond mud or beneath log piles. Always a joy to see them!
Please resolve to let the dandelions grow this spring! Pollinators including bees, butterflies and hoverflies love them, and they also support more than 50 insect species. Here are some from our garden last year 🐝
Insects are in big trouble, because of threats including #climatechange, pesticides, and habitat loss. The world won't work without them. Please do something in your garden or community to help - some easy tips here: https://t.co/buwmPmhRan 🐞🐝
RT if you'd like to see more wildflowers in our gardens, community spaces and roadverges! Meadows are amazing for wildlife, and can contain up to 40 species per square metre, but the UK has lost 97% of these beautiful habitats.
If you find me looking tired & stranded, the best thing to do is pop me onto a flower. If there aren’t any flowers around, a few drops of sugar water (made from equal parts water & white sugar) can really help. Remember to leave me outside, so I can 'bee' on my way asap! #bee
We know these lovely #wrigglers are essential for healthy soil and we can help them thrive with a #nodig policy. Digging not only destroys the aerated texture of the soil but can also damage worms and beneficial fungi and microorganisms. #earthworms#worms#nodiggarden#garden
Bumblebees need help - and our gardens, allotments and community spaces can be a lifeline! Bee-friendly plants, letting some grass grow long, avoiding pesticides/weedkillers, and providing nesting sites can all make a difference. More: https://t.co/3LIjIkNbL6

I’m exercising a huge amount of patience at the moment. I’m trying to hold off sowing these wonderful seeds from @realseeds for a couple of weeks as despite the recent warm weather I know March can be pretty brutal! #gardening#gardenallotment#urbangarden#seeds#vegetableplot
Fagd, forsythia, magnolia and primroses out already in Ladywell if bees find them useful. They might be hit by the cold snaps to come. My frogs are impatient!
