New Lakers owner Josh Kushner sent a letter to investors in his firm, Thrive Capital, earlier this week. @nmasc_ got a copy of it. Thrive Eternal, which will financing part of the Lakers sale, invests in "assets counter positioned to transformation." Bob Iger is an advisor at Thrive.
This is what Kushner wrote about Thrive Eternal:

@Ralph_MasonJr Everyone on the Lakers sucks until the Lakers are about to lose them. Worst 4-12 in the playoffs suddenly doomed because they’re losing their 4-12
@forumbluegold "Anyone could have traded for Anthony Davis" while we all watch the Celtics' executive of the year fumble a Giannis trade over Hugo Gonzalez in real time and end up with 60 year old Paul George.
@AnthonyIrwinLA That's the thing about moneyball moves... they're not going to be popular when they happen. Time will tell whether they know what they're doing or not.
@ClaireMPLS I think it's a gamble that you can sell Luka and Mark Walter on. All context aside, maxing a 22 year old all-NBA center with upside makes perfect sense. It's a very Rob Pelinka type "job-safe" move.
@AnthonyIrwinLA On the other hand, it's also funny to see the mental gymnastics around the whole "the Lakers had such a terrible roster and nobody 3-10 would even be in a better team's rotation" narrative. Every player on the Lakers always sucks until they're about to lose them.
