idk who needs to hear this but stop trying to get into film
just buy a fujifilm camera
it's cute to tote around a vintage nikon. it's not cute to spend $2 or $3 a shot when you're just getting into photography
get a fujifilm. it doesn't matter which one, if you like it you can upgrade later
x100
x-t5
x-t50
target $1,000 for camera + lens. sounds like a lot but that's only 300 shots on a film camera. 10 rolls.
add a few film simulation recipes. start with "Reggie's Portra" (google it). follow the steps. punch it into the camera.
set it to auto and just blast away. you'll see immediately that it's vastly superior to the iPhone camera
fujis are especially good for people photos, the color rendering on skin is magical
your wife will especially appreciate this purchase. this is an approved hobby
good luck
It all starts with community.
Co-Presidents Daniel and Henrik Sedin, and General Manager Ryan Johnson spent time with the children at Canuck Place for an afternoon of arts and crafts!
Just want to prepare everyone for the relentless optimism you're going to hear from me tomorrow. It may come as a shock. But that press conference today felt like a breakthrough in couples counselling. I felt heard as a Canucks fan.
As a fascinating search process winds down, Vancouver appears to have settled on a trio of internal promotions.
My column on the Sedin twins and Ryan Johnson. The right hires for the #Canucks… if they’re ready to dismantle this team:

My reply to someone considering starting a video game company:
The distribution of possible rewards for starting a video game company are generally not very good today. The market is well served, and gaining a foothold requires strong execution on both business and product issues, along with a substantial amount of luck. Plan to burn through seven figures with a not-great chance of making it back.
If you do go for it, some bits of advice:
Identify your customers clearly before you start. Not just a broad community, but specific people, and imagine them as you make decisions.
Initially, build the smallest, most concise game you can imagine anyone paying for. It will still take much longer than you expect.
Once something exists, hill-climb the value. Hopefully you will have some elements that clearly bring joy to people, which you can magnify. There will inevitably be tons of things that people find confusing, frustrating, or just boring that you will need to fix.
@tokifyi@tokifyi it’s good news, but at the same time I’d rather see more private-company data centre builds with the government facilitating / reducing barriers. Still, good for BC!
every school should have a "fix-it lab" where students learn to repair their clothes, bikes and electronics. we should grow up knowing that not everything is disposable, that care and repair are part of living well on this planet.
@domluszczyszyn@shaynagoldman_ Do the 2023-2024 Canucks with good Petey, healthy Demko, happy Miller, etc. ;-) ... would they have rated as a challenger?
