A CHEATING HUSBAND IS DEADLY

Zainab, you are absolutely right. Social media is different from real life. On this app, a cheating husband is just content for gossip. However, in the real world, he can be a biological weapon.

Let me tell you a story of a “real life” I knew while growing up.

There was a man who worked as a truck driver for big companies like Dangote and others like it. He would spend weeks on the road, coming home only a few times a month. But while he was away, he had a knack for adultery and he would sleep with prostitutes and different women unprotected. To him, he was enjoying himself.

Soon enough, he contracted HIV. He didn't even know, and because of that ignorance—and his betrayal of the marital covenant—he infected his faithful wife.

Unfortunately for him, they found out too late. He died, leaving his wife as a victim carrying a terminal virus. To make it worse, his family accused her of bringing the disease, sending her packing to live a miserable, shortened life.

So when you tell a woman like you to "arrange themselves and sit down," understand what you are asking them to sit with.

In Islam, one of the highest objectives of the Sharia is حفظ النفس (Preservation of Life).

And that is why the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

"لَا ضَرَرَ وَلَا ضِرَارَ"
(There shall be no harm, nor the reciprocating of harm)

To me, cheating is more than an emotional inconvenience; it is a breach of safety. A woman is not religiously or intellectually required to stay with a man who risks her life with his recklessness.

So, leaving a cheater is not about "ego" or "social media advice." Sometimes, it is literally an act of self-defense.
