Katsina State Government announces fresh security directives in the fight against banditry

The fresh security directives announced by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda-led administration are:

1. Immediate ban on the sale of petroleum products in jerrycans across Katsina State.

2. Immediate ban on the purchase of petroleum products in jerrycans across Katsina State.

3. Immediate ban on the transportation of petroleum products in jerrycans across Katsina State.

4. Immediate ban on the storage of petroleum products in jerrycans across Katsina State.

5. Immediate closure of all Point of Sale (POS) businesses in Matazu and Musawa Local Government Areas.

6. Immediate closure of all commercial phone charging points in Matazu and Musawa Local Government Areas.

7. Complete ban on the use of motorcycles throughout Matazu and Musawa Local Government Areas.

8. Mandatory compliance with all security directives by residents across the affected areas.

9. Residents are urged to provide credible intelligence and useful information to security agencies.

10. Strict enforcement of the Executive Order, with violators to face appropriate legal sanctions without exception.

Governor Radda Returns to Katsina After High-Level Security Meeting with President Tinubu, Service Chiefs

The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has returned to Katsina via the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport following a high-level security meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja.

During the visit, Governor Radda also held separate meetings with Nigeria’s top security chiefs, including the National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, the Chief of Army Staff LT Gen Waidi Shaibu, the Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, where discussions centered on the prevailing security situation in Katsina State.

Governor Radda’s engagement highlights the ongoing efforts of the Katsina State Government, in collaboration with the Federal Government and security agencies, to tackle security challenges and restore lasting peace across the state.

Governor Radda was received at the airport by the Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fagge; the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 14, Bello Shehu; and the Chairman of Katsina Local Government, Hon. Isah Miqdad.

EFCC has reportedly intercepted gold bars worth about ₦4 billion at Aminu Kano International Airport, allegedly linked to former Zamfara Governor Senator Abdul’aziz Yari.
