a couple thoughts for today’s #Cowboys cutdown to 53:

🔑 believe it or not, but most of the players cut today will indeed clear waivers.

🔑 the practice squad will likely be composed mostly of guys they cut today that end up clearing waivers (there will be some finger-crossing and breath-holding in the front office until Monday’s waiver wire closes)

🔑 they are monitoring other teams’ cuts VERY closely

🔑 the #Cowboys are No. 12 in the waiver claim order

⛑️ Marist Liufau likely IR/DTR, clearing the path for someone on the bubble (also, who gets the other DTR, seeing as Dallas only gets two of those during initial cutdown?)

🔬 this is the initial cutdown, not the final roster — some roster gymnastics will probably be performed (remember CJ Goodwin’s annual handshake, as one example of many)

now … let’s see what shakes.
