I am deeply humbled to have been entrusted with the privilege of representing Uganda at the upcoming European Union Visitors’ Programme (EUVP), commencing next week in Brussels.
The EUVP stands as a flagship initiative of the European Union’s public, people-to-people diplomacy, strengthening its global engagement, outreach, and influence. It plays a vital role in fostering meaningful connections between emerging leaders and their European counterparts, with a view to building lasting partnerships and sustained impact.
I am sincerely grateful to H.E. @JanSadek and the @EUinUG for this vote of confidence. I look forward to the insightful engagements ahead, and to the deepening of the EU-Uganda development cooperation as we celebrate our golden jubilee this year. #TeamEurope
Today, I had the privilege of engaging in a meaningful dialogue on the intersection of climate change and peacebuilding in the Rwenzori Sub-region, at the invitation of Prospect Initiative.
One thing stood out clearly: the policies are there on paper, but the real challenge is implementation. What young people need now are resources, support, and trust to turn these frameworks into action.
In my submission, I reflected on how climate action is still being treated as purely environmental yet in regions like Rwenzori, it is deeply tied to security, conflict, and even violent extremism. Ignoring these linkages risks leaving communities more vulnerable.
If we are serious about climate solutions, we must move beyond policy conversations and invest in youth-led, peace-centered approaches that address the realities on the ground.

As we head toward COP31, the promise made at COP26 still hangs in the balance: halt and reverse forest loss by 2030.
Africa cannot afford delayed action while forests disappear and communities bear the cost.
Youth across the continent are rising, to be heard.

The road to COP31 is clear: the era of pollution must end.
As Helen Clarkson reminds us after COP26, the future is no longer internal combustion,it’s clean, just, and sustainable.
Africa cannot be left behind in this transition.

🌍 From Belém🇧🇷 to Antalya🇹🇷 : Charting the Next Phase of Global Climate Action
With the conclusion of #COP30 in Belém, global attention is already shifting toward the road ahead and the priorities that will shape #COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye.
In our latest blog post, I share some reflections on the most consequential outcomes of COP30 and what they signal for the evolving landscape of international climate governance. From the growing shift toward implementation and delivery, to progress on the energy transition and nature-based solutions, the discussions in Belém highlighted both emerging momentum and persistent challenges.
At the same time, critical questions remain—particularly around mobilising climate finance, strengthening trust between the Global North and South, and ensuring that multilateral climate cooperation delivers equitable and effective outcomes.
The blog also looks ahead to the key priorities that must shape the journey toward COP31, and what governments, international institutions, and non-state actors must do in the months ahead to sustain momentum and accelerate meaningful climate action.
As the global climate agenda continues its transition from ambition to implementation, the period between Belém and Antalya will be decisive. Take a look: https://t.co/q7jthwuhH4 @EdinburghUni
