The smell coming from our women’s bathroom was so horrible that I almost threw up the moment I opened the door.
For a few seconds, I just stood there, staring into the bathroom, trying to understand what I was smelling.
It smelled like something had been rotting in there for days.
What made it even stranger was that we had already received a complaint about the bathrooms that morning.
I was the manager of a busy retail store, and most of my employees and customers were women. Naturally, the women’s bathroom got far more use than the men’s.
So when the complaint came in, I decided to check both bathrooms myself.
I was a big guy, and I had one rule as a manager: I would never ask my employees to do something I wasn’t willing to do myself.
So I put on a pair of latex gloves and headed for the men’s bathroom first.
It was completely fine.
There were a couple of scraps of toilet paper on the floor, but nothing unusual. No terrible smell. Nothing that would explain the complaint.
Then I walked across the hallway and opened the women’s bathroom.
The stench hit me immediately.
I actually stepped backward.
What on earth was in there?
I opened the door wider and slowly looked inside.
Everything appeared normal at first.
The sinks were clean. The toilets looked fine. There was no obvious mess on the floor.
But the smell was unbearable.
I started checking the stalls one by one.
Nothing.
My husband and I nearly ended our marriage because of his younger sister.
At least, that’s what I thought the problem was.
She had a habit of calling my husband whenever she needed money.
School fees.
Rent.
Hospital bills.
Sometimes things I honestly didn’t understand.
And somehow, my husband always found a way to send something.
Whenever I complained, he would say, “She’s my sister. I can’t just abandon her.”
I understood that.
What I didn’t understand was why our own plans always came second.
One month, we were supposed to use our savings to pay for something important in the house.
Then his sister called.
He transferred almost half of what we had saved.
I was furious.
We argued that night.
He told me I was becoming selfish.
I told him he was married to his family before he was married to me.
After that, things became cold between us.
Then one afternoon, I received a message from his sister.
“Please don’t be angry with your husband. There’s something you need to know about the money he has been sending me.”
I stared at the message.
Then she sent a picture.
I reported my best friend for stealing from the register. Three days later I found out what she was stealing for.
Marcy and I had worked the same store for four years. She covered my shifts when my dad was sick. I brought her coffee every morning without being asked.
I have twin sisters.
Everyone says they look exactly alike.
But growing up, I noticed something strange.
They never took a photo together.
Whenever someone tried, one of them would leave.
I finally asked my mother why.
She looked at me strangely.
Then said:
“Because they aren't twins.”
I laughed.
“Of course they are.”
Mum shook her head.
“You were born first.”
I stared at her.
“What does that have to do with them?”
She whispered:
“You weren't supposed to remember the third baby.”
Fame really does have a dark side that people don’t talk about enough.
The news that the Florida woman accused of opening fire at Rihanna’s Beverly Crest home has now been indicted on attempted murder and other felony charges is honestly disturbing. Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, their children and other people were on the property when the incident happened. Thankfully, no one was injured, and the woman has pleaded not guilty.
And this is the part about….🧵
🔥 Awakenings🎬📺 (1990) 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The profoundly moving biographical drama Awakenings, directed by Penny Marshall and starring Robin Williams and Robert De Niro. Based on the true story of neurologist Oliver Sacks, is one of the most heartbreaking medical films ever made.
The film doesn't just celebrate a medical miracle; it deals with the devastating psychological reality of patients waking up from decades-long catatonia (caused by the encephalitis lethargica epidemic). They go to sleep as youths and wake up trapped in aging, unfamiliar bodies in a world that has completely moved on without them.
The true gut-punch of the film is that the L-Dopa drug is only a temporary window. Watching Robert De Niro’s character, Leonard, desperately try to hold onto his fading humanity and motor control as the drug fails is one of the most agonizing, brilliant performances of his career.
People call Awakenings a beautiful medical drama, but it is actually the most terrifying psychological horror movie of the 1990s.
Everyone praises the doctor for "curing" these patients. But think about the absolute cruelty of what actually happens. Leonard goes to sleep as a young boy and wakes up trapped in an aging man's body, realizing his entire life was stolen. Then, just as he finally falls in love and tastes real freedom, the medicine stops working.
The doctor didn't give him his life back; he gave him a temporary, agonizing tease of a life, only to lock him back inside his own freezing brain while he was fully aware it was happening.
Giving someone false hope is a hundred times more brutal than leaving them in a permanent sleep.
People already treat Sweeney like the final boss of "she's just existing and it's a problem."
Put this body on Zendaya and the argument ends.
No think pieces, no "it's the lighting," no pretending it's about talent. Just silence, then the kind of unhinged thirst that gets accounts banned.
JOHN STEWART MIGHT HAVE ALREADY ENCOUNTERED HIS FIRST LARFLEEZE.
Forget the cosmic threats for a second. How do you ask John for $300K, walk away with a $200K watch, and STILL act like the debt hasn't been settled.
At this point, John isn't dealing with a love interest he's dealing with an intergalactic-level negotiator. If Larfleeze is eventually revealed, don't be surprised if the writers say the obsession with taking everything started right here.
Because seriously… how much does she wants..
