This is one of the simplest ways to be more consistent at the plate.
“Eyes behind the ball.”
That’s it.
- Track it longer.
- Let it travel.
- Stop trying to hit it out of the pitchers hand and let it come to you.
> Save this for when you need it.
> Send it to a hitter who does.
🚨 Bobby Witt Jr's On-Deck Routine
• Lock in on the pitcher.
• Time up your stride.
• Visualize what you just saw w/ a swing.
⭐️ Your focus (or lack of it) on-deck is a difference-maker. Get into the box ready to compete.
Every hitter I've coached who struggles..
Tends to have the same problem.
They have the tools.
They look great in the cage.
Then the game starts and something's off..
They bail on swings they crush in BP.
They second-guess.
They look like a different hitter.
It's not mechanics.
Not strength.
Not lack of reps.
It's one thing.
The thing that separates the hitter that's feared
Versus the hitter that gets attacked.
The thing that you can see from a mile away.
That one word? Conviction.
Trusting your swing.
Your plan.
And yourself.
No hesitation. No hoping.
Pitchers sense it.
Coaches see it.
The hitter who has it looks unshakable.
And ready to make someone pay.
Send this to a hitter who needs to hear it.
Save it for when you need it.

Joshua: The Warrior Who Prefigured Christ
Joshua stands not merely as a commander of men, but as a type — a foreshadowing of Christ the King.
He was called from the ranks of Israel’s warriors, not born to royal lineage, yet chosen by God to lead His people into the Promised Land. His strength was not his own. His courage was not born of ambition. Every victory he won bore the mark of heaven.
From the first clash with Amalek to the fall of Jericho’s walls, Joshua’s triumphs were not wrought by the sword, but by obedience. He led through faith — not force — and thus revealed what true kingship means: power that kneels before God.
At Jericho, he commanded silence and procession instead of violence. Trumpets replaced swords; prayer replaced pride. The walls fell, not by might, but by faith. The city fell because heaven decreed it. In that act, Joshua embodied the truth that the greatest conquerors are those who first conquer themselves.
He was no earthly monarch, yet his rule was regal in its righteousness. Like Christ, he led his people across the waters — Moses through the Red Sea, Joshua through the Jordan — and into a new covenant of promise.
And at the end, his final words echo through the ages:
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
This is the heart of kingship — devotion over dominion, service over self. Joshua stands as the warrior-king who pointed toward the greater Joshua — Jesus, the true Deliverer — who would lead not a nation into a land, but humanity into eternity.
The story of Joshua is the story of faith wielded as a sword. Strength guided by obedience. Leadership consecrated to God.
May we, too, learn to fight for what is holy, to lead with humility, and to serve the Lord with undivided hearts.
@DET_Guru_Kurt If just ONE Tiger’s hitter would get hit, then they’d have a chance. Feels like they’re all slumping at the same time. Two runs down feels like it’s impossible for them to come back from
@Robbiejay84@TigersJUK I soooo wanted Tork to be a beast with huge HR numbers year after year, but… it’s not going to happen. Or maybe like an Adam Dunn type of player
@BenVerlander Yes! I agree. They almost need a whole new team : bullpen, starters, bats… unfortunately they won’t sign Skubal so they really might as well trade him this off season seeing as they’ll be going into rebuild mode, with a new GM
