@IncomeTaxIndia Income tax paid at 4:30 PM. Amount debited from account - CIN number available but BSR not generated as Challan failed to load. No reconciliation and unable to file return as yet. This is ludicrous.

In 2006, Samajwadi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan was accused of holding the post of Chairperson, Uttar Pradesh Film Development Corporation, which was not allowed under the Office of Profit Act.

The Election Commission disqualified her for holding an “office of profit,” and the Supreme Court upheld it.

Parliament’s response? They immediately amended the law, not to fix the principle, but to ensure other MPs wouldn’t meet the same fate. BJP protested, but the amendment passed both Houses.

Very rarely does a President return a bill. But President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam did just that, probably because he did not find the whole thing very proper. Parliament, however, passed it again, and it became the law.

That’s how fast a law can be changed when MPs want it. So if a law you find unjust or harmful still exists, remember: your parliamentarians are keeping it there deliberately, fully aware of what it does and who it hurts.

@JioCare - i never cancelled this request -no one came, no one showed up for 4 days- was put on hold for no reason. No communication at all. Internet not working for 5 straight days now. Can you look into this asap?
