This sentence by Dostoyevsky never fails to hit hard:
“You sensed that you should be following a different path, a more ambitious one, you felt that you were destined for other things but you had no idea how to achieve them and in your misery you began to hate everything around you.”
The older I get, the more I believe happiness lives in the little things. A quiet morning coffee. Long walks. A nice novel. A cosy home. Good food. Good hearted people. So much of life’s beauty is already here. Society makes us think we need to be 'extraordinary' to be happy. But that’s a recipe for frustration. There’s so much beauty in a simple, honest life. Being yourself and slowly building a life that feels right in your heart. And one day, you look back and realize... you didn't need more, you just needed to notice what you already had.
Our bodies were built to move. If we're lying in bed all day, it's no wonder we feel burnt out, stressed, and exhausted. We need to move our bodies. Hit the gym, or even just go for a walk around the neighborhood every morning.
Two years ago, when I was struggling with anxiety, I spent so much time looking for advice in every self-help book and motivational video out there, tried everything recommended by my lecturers, friends, and family, but none of it worked.
Right when I was about to give up, I said "F*** it, I can't do this anymore. I'll just accept it and face it head-on". I'm not feeding my brain with motivational video like " You can do this. Take a rest bla bla... " and surprisingly that actually worked.
@Boywrist That's why I think the best way to deal with things is to face them, accept them, reflect on our own actions or what we could've done differently, and move on. No need t seek validation or an excuse to escape reality.
BEING SHY MAKES YOU LOSE IN LIFE
Be egoistical. Stop losing opportunities. Stop wasting your potential. No energy. No drive. Afraid. Depressed. Start living. Other people’s opinions don’t matter. Become unapologetic. Get aggressive with your life. Fulfill your mission. Focus on your interests. Confidence will become part of who you are.
You weren’t born shy.
Your environment forced you to be.
It all comes from your childhood, where you were taught to always please others, but all this time - it was destroying everything around you.
It's not that I don't want to get married.
I think I'm just scared of choosing the wrong person and slowly losing myself along the way.
What if he doesn't really love me? What if his heart still belongs to someone else, but he chooses me because she didn't choose him? What if he doesn't support the things I want to do, the dreams I want to chase, or the life I want to build?
I know I shouldn't keep asking myself "what if?". But love is something I never really known. I've never experienced it in that way, so sometimes it feels like stepping into something that completely unfamiliar. And lately, I've realized just how much one decision and change your entire life.
That's why I'm scared. I don't wanna just find someone to marry. I want to find someone who feels like home, but someone I can genuinely love, ggrow and share my life with.

time flies so fast!
I can't believe it's already been 200 days since I started journaling. Looking back on my days and documenting little moments in my notes makes me feel better and gives me something to look forward to throughout the day💗🍀
I am a physics student and I couldn't agree more with this. I no longer reread my notes when it comes to exam season. I just learn by explaining the theory to my friends or even to the wall. I repeat it again and again until I feel like "oh I think I understand it well enough", and then move on to the next subject.
