@rosesforsue Taylor swift in the recent years just feels like she’s running a social experiment to see how insufferable she can get & still have fans
"When you die, are you going to heaven?"
Catholics: "I cannot say with certainty that I am going to heaven. I pray that, by God’s grace, I will persevere in His will, remain in sanctifying grace, and receive His mercy at the end of my life."
Protestant: "Yes. I’m definitely going to heaven."
And people still ask why Catholics talk about salvation differently?
If our Christianity causes us to defend the president rather than the poor, the powerless, the sick, the hungry, the homeless, and the immigrant, that’s when we know we are following someone other than Jesus.
On this Valentine’s Day, it is well to remember, there is no greater labor on earth than love, the endless apprenticeship to it. There is no other work worth doing but this, to love, to fail at loving, and to dare, still, to love again.
“I hate Valentine’s Day because I’m single, it’s so commercialized, blah blah blah”
Skill issue.
Celebrate your friends. Bring your coworkers treats. Call your mom. Cook for yourself. Quit undervaluing platonic love and then wondering why you don’t have more of it in your life.
It’s odd that the religious right is so upset about a halftime show that celebrated marriage, love, community, small business, hard work, and family. 🤔
I miss the Mr. Rogers type of Christian. The one that models meekness, kindness, gentleness, humility, and patience - basically the type of Christian man that would be considered a Beta male today.
If I were the literal devil I would carefully convince Christians that there is something sinister about empathy, that forgiveness is reserved for those who serve my interests, and that love looks like incurious condescension.
"The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable."
