@polanskydj As the core of the violence remains within the territories Israel controls for all intents and purposes--and we seemingly agree on the lack of Palestinian sovereignty--how would you characterize the fighting? I wouldn't imagine inter-state.

@polanskydj Ok. Then I fail to see why JJM's "multiplying auxiliary hypotheses" when he's merely making explicit an otherwise implicit, axiomatic boundary condition of his thesis. IMO, he's not being evasive as a theorist even if the moralism is unusual and the classification is debatable.

@polanskydj In an interview with a German broadcaster several months ago, a version of this question was put to him. He suggested that the logic of offensive realism was not applicable to Isr-Pal because it is a civil war.
