@mcuban Pricing in healthcare is a mess which is why new business models are so interesting. A bit of semantics but in this case the employer is the insurer and the insurance co is the plan administrator. These plans are the lowest margin parts of their businesses vs fully insured plans.
@mcuban That makes sense - your point is for admins of self funded plans (e.g., generally large employers), not patients. An idea for a fun series: walk through an EOB and a provider bill for an encounter and follow the money.
@mcuban Having said that, network status is a nightmare. A surgery may involve 10 different providers and in an extreme scenario you may get an anesthesiologist that is not in network and a surgeon who is, where you have no say in the matter.
@paulg@levie My hunch: some non-enterprise folks made collab software so good that users smuggled it in & it stuck (sort of). Then competition, imitation, etc. Slack being the poster child.
@paulg You are making a logical leap. Maybe people are leaving because they don't like it anymore, not because of who owns it. I liked it better when this was a great place to learn about building products, playing guitar, taking pictures, and my local sports teams.
Consider the brain: a theater recreating a highly edited world based on the ~41 bits per second Shannon Limit of human bandwidth of consciousness.
Once the bandwidth is saturated “reality” distorts.
Observe the specimen below.
Your observations?
@paulg Leadership speech is relatively accessible, and a place to start. It would be interesting, for instance, to see shared patterns between say CR Mao and Trump...
@HarryDCrane@jameschurchman You should read the history. It was bonkers. We have a ways to go. Having said that, Trump is weirdly reminiscent of Mao at times. I half expect him to call for a Great Leap Forward.
@PersistenzaPaga@Noahpinion@heynottheface I think this is almost certainly an incorrect or misleading number. There is waste all around healthcare, but the growth of administration in provider systems is one big area: https://t.co/utap6H1yKm
Starlight: 4 songs by The Young Old, which is 3 people, one of whom happens to be me! We recorded these at @crackleandpop in mid-January. Find the Marston reference, if you dare.

Be still my beating heart..@aoc asks Zuckerberg the question. I & others (notably @jason_kint) have been asking for a loooong time. When exactly did he first learn about Cambridge Analytica? Tell me, does this sound like a convincing answer to you?
