I think the problem here is the mindset that you’re doing someone a favour by agreeing to go on a date with them.

₦100k might be too much for one person and too little for another. That’s not the point.

I’ve been on dates where we split the bill. No drama. Nobody felt like they were doing anybody a favour.

When there’s genuine interest and you’re actually trying to build something beyond one night of enjoyment, these things shouldn’t become a competition about who is spending more.

But when every interaction becomes “what am I getting out of this?”, it starts feeling less like dating and more like poverty alleviation scheme. 😂

Two adults should be able to discuss what works for both of them without making the other person feel like they should be grateful for the opportunity to be there.
