We're thrilled to receive an Honor Award for Design Excellence from the @BSAAIA for two of our projects: The Exchange at 100 Federal Street and the Snyder Center at Phillips Academy Andover.

The Dutch have incredible history of water mgmt. On Sunday, we spent the day visiting @Waterlinies - learning how the Dutch used dikes to flood the land as protection from foreign invasion. We also saw @Natuurmonument ‘s waterloopbos - which tested the Delta Works in the 1960’s.

Shortly following, we visited @DeZandmotor - A unique science experiment creating land from dredging utilizing natural currents of the North Sea. Scientists measured how the dune eroded over time, and it has many recreational purposes as well. Fascinating for #NETHERLANDSplanBAC

Our next stop was to see @Maeslantkeringweg - storm surge barrier of the Delta Works, compared to the scale of two Eiffel towers - we were honored to receive a tour, which has inspired our #NETHERLANDSplanBAC research - this system protects Europe’s largest port in Rotterdam

Our last stop was Oosterscheldekering - one of the largest storm surge barriers of the world - stretching about 2.5 miles: protecting hundreds of coastal villages of the Netherlands. Many hard ecology lessons learned from these large infrastructure projects. #NETHERLANDSplanBAC

Our road trip across the country began Monday last week for #NETHERLANDSplanBAC - we received a guided tour of Katwijk aan Zee’s Storm Surge Dune Protection Project, which is elevated about 25ft above sea level. Here are a few photos: #climatechange @TheBACBoston @perkinswill_BOS
