@ascheer90 This is the big misconception, that SID’s are just posting AI stories directly without editing.

What I said about my AI use was that it helped me write my stories, not that it was writing them for me.

It’s not for everyone but it helped me and helps over 250 schools and SID’s

I’ve watched the reaction to WSU’s partnership with FanWord over the last day or so, and I think a lot of people are reacting to what they think this is instead of what it actually is. There are fair questions to ask, but a lot of context is getting lost in the noise.

@anoconnell I don’t think it’s sad to utilize a tool to be more efficient with my time and responsibilities.

I wasn’t put on this world to be an SID.

To each their own. My opinion is based on my experiences the last 10 years as an SID. Keeping up with the times is part of the job.

@Its_Coach_Steve No? The last year and a half.

[Bridget Delaney @b_delaney_]

@NealBradley I don’t see postgame stories on websites going away anytime soon. All this program is doing is helping the SID’s write them more efficiently so hopefully they don’t have to spend as much time on it while juggling all of the other postgame responsibilities.

Seeing so many negative tweets about this. My hot take:

The reality is, no one is reading this stuff anymore. Social media has become a higher priory to coaches and comms staffs. AI helped me so much as an SID and allowed me to focus more on growing social presence for my teams.

[Washington State Cougars @WSUCougars]

WSU Athletics is proud to announce a new partnership with @fanword to improve our efficiency and elevate the storytelling of our Cougar student-athletes!

@mheff13 Seriously! I was a work study supervisor for over 50 students over 2 years and had opportunities available for writing and only 1 person was interested. Aside from that, a lot of students are using AI to write for them anyways!

[Bridget Delaney @b_delaney_]

SID’s are already stretched so thin and this is something that can help!! If it saves people time during the week, maybe we’ll see less burnout and people can actually have some sort of work life balance.

At 10 pm when I would finally be able to write my recaps, after social was posted, throwing the box score into Chat to help write something that 5 people would read made things go a lot quicker. At least this program is geared towards sports so it knows what it’s talking about!
