I want to really focus on my effect size and my teams when we come together to analyze. I want to focus on taking our Ss from surface level to a deeper understanding then I to the transfer stage and really focus on them taking ownership on their own learning. #HCPSRead
A5: it’s not only about the assessments we use it’s what we DO with that data that determines if our Ss will continue to grow or not. We need to know what works and what doesn’t and then take action and have our Ss do the same as well. They need to take ownership! #HCPSRead
A4: miscue analysis tells us why our Ss make the reading errors they do and what strategies they are using as they read. This will help Ts determine how to help the S and in what area they need to focus on in their reading and what strategies to help them with #HCPSRead
A3: successful retellings should not be seen as the ultimate measure of comprehension. They are being asked to retell based off memory and they are not synthesizing the information in the text and making connections. #HCPSRead
A2: collective teacher efficacy is only effective when we are taking plenty of time to sit and not only plan what we are going to teach and how but also analyzing the student work after and reflecting on our impact. We need to figure out what is and is not working #HCPSRead
A1: most important is making regular opportunities to meet as a team to see what one another is doing and the impact that is having on our students. Sitting and determining our impact and staying focused on the 4 questions on p. 170. #HCPSRead
Ch 6 F/U: next year I really want to emphasize vocabulary so I liked the idea on p.140 abovet the scavenger hunts and using this as homework to help build vocabulary as well as the open and closed words sorts. I do this with phonics but love using with with vocab too. #HCPSRead
