He’s right. The Republican Party isn’t a party of ideas. Or policy. It doesn’t stand for anything. It’s just a bunch of people being blindly loyal to corrupt madman who controls the primary voting base, but is unpopular with the rest of the country.
I read something like this and I think: Some of us have been so focused on their authoritarianism and abuse of power and lawless that we’ve perhaps neglected to point out the additional fact that these are also just terrible humans—lacking class, grace, kindness or dignity.
He gets a ballroom. An Arch. A new reflecting pool. 10 billion directly into his pocket from taxpayers. Billions from special interests seeking favors and pardons.
What has America gotten? Tariffs, a new war, higher gas prices, inflation.
Truly a golden age.
MAGA built a gallows, beat police officers, and threatened to hang the vice president because they lost an election — but somehow it’s Democrats who need to “tone it down.” The audacity is unreal.
Trump fell asleep again during a live televised meeting. If Joe Biden had done that, the media would have treated it like a national emergency and run wall-to-wall panic coverage for a week.
But when Trump does it, they look the other way because the clown show keeps their ratings up and their pockets full.
The hypocrisy is disgraceful. The media failed the country, and they know it.
“He didn’t literally mean he would wipe out an entire civilization”
Then he shouldn’t have fucking said it.
He’s the President of the United States. He has sole launch authority over the world’s most sophisticated nuclear arsenal, and words mean things.
You know, in the end, Trump’s name will be synonymous for the single most evil and destructive person to ever hold the Presidency, and it won’t even be close.
“I killed 500,000 people by botching COVID, wrecked our economy with a foolish trade war, set loose murderous domestic secret police, ripped off Americans in billion-dollar crypto scams, covered Epstein, sold out our allies, started a second Great Depression and World War III” is a hell of a resume.
Wow -- as first spotted by @BadFoxGraphics, Fox & Friends this morning used *old footage of a previous dignified transfer* to mislead their audience about the fact that Trump wore a baseball cap during the one yesterday
In the 13 months since Trump took office, the economy has created a net total of 198,000 jobs compared with 1.4 million created in the last 13 months of the Biden administration. https://t.co/DHGD6h2pmF
.@JamesTalarico: My grandad was a Baptist preacher in South Texas. He told me at an early age that we follow a barefoot rabbi who gave us two commandments: love God and love neighbor.
My faith teaches me to love my neighbor as myself. Not just my neighbor who looks like me. Not just my neighbor who prays like me. Not just my neighbor who votes like me. I am called to love all of my neighbors the way I love myself.
That’s what motivated me to go into public service — first as a public school teacher and now as a public official.
As a legislator, I’ve brought Democrats and Republicans together to take on corporate special interests and lower the cost of housing, lower the cost of childcare, and lower the cost of prescription drugs including insulin.
I’m trying to love my neighbor through public policy, I’m trying to make my neighbor’s life a little easier and a little better.
Talarico: I am tired of being pitted against my neighbor. I'm tired of being told to hate my neighbor. It's been more than ten years of this kind of politics. Politics as bloodsport, politics as trolling and owning politics as total war. It tears families apart. It ends friendships, and it leaves us all feeling terrible all the time.
We cannot defeat the politics of division with more division. We can't win their game. We have to change the game. This campaign is rooted in a fierce love for this state, for this country, and most importantly, for all of our neighbors.
.@JamesTalarico: The only minority destroying America is the billionaires. Trans people are 1% of the population. Muslims are 1% of the population. Undocumented people are 1% of the population. We are focused on the wrong 1%.
Trans people aren't taking away our healthcare. Muslims aren't defunding our schools. Immigrants aren't cutting taxes for themselves and their rich friends. It’s the billionaires and their puppet politicians.
The culture wars are a smokescreen. They want us looking left and right at our neighbors instead of looking up at them. The biggest divide in our politics is not left versus right, it’s top versus bottom.
I know we've all gotten used to trump's deranged daily rants, but hearing him repeatedly say "I can do anything I want... I can DESTROY the country" is unnerving, and way worse than Biden's bad debate.
He gets worse every day.
And none of this is normal.
Good morning. The President of the United States was in the middle of the most serious child sex trafficking ring of the last quarter century.
He is referenced not a dozen times in the case files. Not 100 times. Not 1,000 times. He’s referenced 38,000 times.
If you still support Trump and his administration, I don’t judge you for your choice of political party.
I judge you for your lack of morals, ethics, compassion & humanity.
I judge you for your support of pedophilia, racism, treason & fascism.
So will others. So will history.
Trying to provoke both a world war and a civil war at the same time while demanding a Nobel Peace prize is a level of insanity we’ve never seen ever before.
