PAKISTAN: Zubair Shah Agha, a core committee member of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM), was arbitrarily detained on 28 June after attending a press conference organized by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) in Quetta on the sentencing of Mahrang Baloch.
He has since been held in administrative detention under section 3 of Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance (MPO). Zubair Agha's detention is the latest in a growing pattern of Pakistani authorities using administrative detention powers to arbitrarily deprive activists, journalists and human rights defenders of their liberty. Similar to Zubair, Syed Bibi Baloch was taken into administrative detention under MPO on 1 July in Turbat, Balochistan after a peaceful protest was announced regarding Mahrang’s sentencing. On 20 June, journalist Ahmad Farhad was also detained under MPO in Bagh, Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir, where he remains in custody.
Pakistani authorities must immediately release Zubair Shah Agha, Syed Bibi Baloch and Ahmad Farhad, and end the misuse of administrative detention laws to suppress peaceful dissent and uphold the rights to liberty, freedom of expression and peaceful assembly.
Turbat: A Baloch Student Allegedly Forcibly Disappeared by Pakistani Forces
According to reports, a Baloch young man from Josak, Turbat, Balochistan, was allegedly detained by Pakistani intelligence personnel and has since been forcibly disappeared.
Sources said that on July 7, at around 7:00 PM, personnel from MI and ISI allegedly detained Muslim, son of Sardoo Since then, his whereabouts remain unknown.
Muslim is 18 years old, a student, and a resident of Turbat. His family has called for his safe and immediate release.
Baloch Voice for Justice strongly condemns the killing of Riaz Baloch, a 35 year old tractor driver from Dera Bugti, who died on 10 July 2026 after enduring brutal torture in CTD custody. He was forcibly disappeared from his home on 12 June and held without any legal process. After his family paid PKR 5 million, he was released in critical condition and transferred to Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The killing of Riaz Baloch reflects the continuing pattern of enforced disappearances, custodial torture, and extortion carried out by state authorities in Balochistan. Families are forced to pay enormous sums to secure the release of their loved ones, while many victims are returned with life threatening injuries or never return at all. Such practices have created a climate of fear and impunity across the region.
Baloch Voice for Justice urges the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and democratic governments to take immediate action to address these grave human rights violations. Silence only encourages further abuses. Those responsible must be held accountable, enforced disappearances must end, and justice must be delivered to Riaz Baloch and every victim of state violence in Balochistan.

Dera Bugti: A man who was allegedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces has died after being released.

Local people say that the CTD often raids the homes of political opponents of Sarfraz Bugti, allegedly detains them, and later releases them after large amounts of money are paid. They also said that some families do not report such incidents because of government pressure.
Local residents further claimed that several people are still in CTD custody in Dera Bugti, and their lives are at serious risk.

Mastung: Drone attack on the house of Muhammad Ibrahim and his brother is deeply concerning, says BYC
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) said that on June 3, Pakistani forces carried out a drone strike on the house of a civilian, Muhammad Ibrahim, in Dasht Kambil, Mastung. Fortunately, no one was injured. However, more than 50 livestock belonging to the family were killed. These animals were the poor family's only source of income.
The spokesperson said that because there are very few job opportunities in Balochistan, many people depend on livestock farming for their livelihood. They live in remote mountainous areas with their animals. Sadly, these hardworking people often become direct victims of Pakistani state violence. During military operations, their homes are burned, men and women are allegedly killed without trial, forcibly disappeared, or their only source of income their livestock is destroyed. Taking away their animals or targeting these already vulnerable people is a serious injustice.
The spokesperson added that it is the responsibility of the Pakistani state to protect not only people's lives but also their homes and livelihoods. However, they claimed that in Pakistan, Baloch people are not safe, and neither are their homes or livestock. They described these actions as part of what they called the genocide of the Baloch people.
The statement further said that the Baloch Yakjehti Committee strongly condemns this Pakistani state aggression and calls on the United Nations and all international human rights organizations to immediately take notice of the alleged abuses, drone strikes, and serious human rights violations against the Baloch people in Balochistan, and to hold Pakistan accountable under international law.
The tragic extrajudicial killing of a Baloch teacher, Abdul Haq Baloch along with other persons from Gwadar highlights escalating humanitarian crisis in Balochistan. Civilian are being targeted and executed on daily basis, the cruelty and violence has vanished the humanity.

Syed Bibi, a member of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) who was recently released from jail, says that her life is under threat. She claims that if any harm comes to her, the responsibility will lie with Turbat Police officer Zohaib Baloch and Pakistani secret agencies.

Syed Bibi says that for the past year she has been reporting to the CTD office every week, yet she continues to face harassment.
