Armed police and soldiers on Wednesday blocked retired military personnel from converging in front of the Ministry of Defence in Abuja, where the ex-servicemen had gathered to protest the non-implementation of consequential adjustments to their pensions.

The protesters had attempted to move towards the front of the ministry as part of their planned demonstration, but more security personnel were mobilised to prevent them from assembling at the location.

The development followed an earlier confrontation between serving soldiers and the retired military personnel after security operatives attempted to stop the ex-servicemen from staging their protest in front of the ministry.

The unfortunate mentality in Nigeria today:

-If u criticize ADC u work for the APC.

-Yahoo is OK because politicians are thieves.

-Speaking agaisnt Tinubu's administration means u are tribalistic towards the Yorubas or can't see the positives in anything.

-Supporting the North or South-East means u ignore the problem, regardless the context.

-Northerners are blamed for insecurity, Igbos cause division, and the Yorubas are at fault for letting Tinubu win.

-Questioning religious leaders is an act of disrespect to the faith. How dare u?

-Political prostitut'on is fine as long as it benefits the agenda.

-Religion is the problem and not the leaders or extremists.

-The elites in charge of basic necessities are heros, (despite profiting off our struggles and misfortunes).

-But the most unfortunate one is, whether I vote or not, it doesn't count.
