Advancing Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) in Uganda through International Collaboration

As part of the ODeL-UG Project, representatives from RENU, the National Council for Higher Education (@nche_uganda), @kabuniversity , and @MMU_Uganda are participating in a capacity building and knowledge-exchange visit to the University of Lisbon, Portugal, and @maastric_1, the Netherlands.

From 27th to 29th May 2026, the Ugandan delegation visited the University of Lisbon, where they engaged with experts on the institution’s ODeL framework, regulatory and policy environment, curriculum development approaches, and digital infrastructure, including its data centre facilities.

This week, the delegation continues its learning journey at Maastricht University, exploring best practices in digital learning, higher education innovation, and effective ODeL implementation.

We appreciate the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union in enabling the ODeL-UG Project which seeks to enhance access to and quality of higher education in Uganda through Open, Distance and e-Learning.
