Do you remember Terrance Shaw? It’s one of the most terrifying murder cases in Wisconsin history. He was paroled by Tony Evers’ appointee despite being convicted of raping, strangling and stabbing to death a young nurse and mother he saw through her picture window painting her livingroom in Onalaska in the middle of the day.

Stabbed her so brutally that he cut off part of his own thumb, which helped catch him when about a year later, he was stopped near another young nurse’s house with a meat hook in his car. He was allegedly using it to climb up the side of her house, police believed. There are some very terrified women in Sparta right now, where he now lives, and one just filed for a restraining order against him.

This was one of the saddest cases I ever covered because when I called the victim’s son for comment on the parole, he didn’t even know Shaw was out - and he’d been out for a year. The state notification process was totally messed up. He was so traumatized that he couldn’t work for quite some time, and he would call me to talk for hours and work through the trauma.

The media largely ignored the case and all of the victims’ families. There was a little coverage. But it hurt Evers during the middle of a governor’s race so they scrubbed the victims from most of the coverage and turned it into, “here’s how the parole process really works.” Or a story about Michels mixing up paroles and pardons.

This was always about public safety, justice and the victims and their families.

Maybe they’ll care now??

Judge Sparkle Sooknanan made a promise under oath. She pledged to renounce her Trinidad and Tobago citizenship to fulfill her duties. Recent reports suggest she never did. She took the bench anyway.

We introduced legislation to close this gap for GOOD.

In her latest sciolistic letter to me, @SenWarren made it clear that she knows even less about foreign exchange markets than she does about banking.

What is equally shocking, but not surprising: not a single member of the media mob has a rudimentary-enough level of financial market literacy to spot her remedial error.

To reiterate: under @POTUS, the United States delivers for America’s trusted partners.

For a fuller explanation, I recommend Senator Warren take any entry level course in international finance for her and her staff, or I can personally give her a tutorial on Foreign Exchange for Dummies. Although I am not holding my breath, I hope her next letter will demonstrate that she has learned the difference between a currency purchase and a swap or a loan.
