You quote a U.S. State Dept Investment Climate Statement that flags long-standing risks (insecurity, ports, corruption, regulatory friction) while deliberately ignoring the same document’s recognition of “painful but necessary” reforms, macroeconomic stabilisation, reserves at multi-year highs of $62bn, and GDP growth of around 4%.
You then treat one quarter’s composition of capital inflows as proof the government is “scaring away” investors, when in-fact Nigeria is on the global stage with positive news from the stock exchange with growth from N28 trillion to N161 trillion, a 454% growth. This was only possible due to Economic Reforms which includes removal of fuel subsidies, floating and stabilizing of the foreign exchange market, and fiscal adjustments.
Facts are stubborn, however Nigeria’s challenges are real and pretending the reforms have produced no external validation is the real disservice to the investors and citizens you claim to speak for.
A productive Nigeria is possible when we stop scoring cheap political points with partial data.

Poor Nigerians don’t shop at Shoprite or own 2–5 cars running on subsidised petrol paid for by everyone. Earn more to match your new reality or cut your expenses and quit complaining.
