There are many more stories just like this. These are the micro aggressions, (intentional or not) many educators are saying are invisible, yet they are very visible and real to to us.
Language matters. I ask educators, researchers & others to stop describing children “disadvantaged” “at risk students” & other markers of deficit that are used to describe children who are not white and usually code for Black children.
