Harrell has failed, miserably, when it comes to homelessness. Broken promises, outright lies, and an acceleration of people pushed onto the streets.
Time for a new mayor.

On Wednesday, Katie stood with educators and other workers in Olympia to demand elected officials invest in the state's students and teachers.
Here's what she said:
NEW: Rep. Shaun Scott and three educators are "tresspassing" at the Governor's office, demanding a meeting to convince him to tax the rich instead of cutting critical services. This is a developing story

This morning, I signed SB 5065 to prevent large, exotic animals like elephants and big cats from being used in traveling circus acts.
Traveling to perform stresses them, exposes them to the elements, and isolates them. This is an important protection for these beautiful animals.
We appreciate voices from the community on this bill and the hard work of legislators, and a special thank you to prime sponsor @SenMarkoLiias.
Is #waleg headed for special session? Seems much more likely after @GovBobFerguson called the Dems new $12B tax package 'unsustainable' and 'too risky'. Read the statement here: https://t.co/13CRY39Wj3

The amendment allows 10% *plus* inflation, so if inflation was 3% that would mean going from $2,000 to $2,260 is permissible.
This is wild because rent hikes literally cause inflation.
By contrast, in Oregon rent stabilization is the *lesser* of 7% plus annual inflation *or* 10%.
NEW: Serious about protecting Seattlites from Trump? City Council must repeal last years mass surveillance expansion or else risk aiding his purges, BJ Last and Julia Buck write.https://t.co/F4Cm8DyP3j
“Why exempt Boeing from the 1% B&O tax surcharge on businesses proposed in the Legislature? That surcharge is only for companies with taxable income over $250 million. Will the Democratic Legislature learn stooping to corporate behemoths never works?”

Now that Governor Ferguson is on record opposing a wealth tax, the stakes for HB 2045 are even higher.
Passing this corporate tax with no exemptions for billion dollar big businesses means fewer cuts to education, to healthcare, and to the social safety net in Washington State.
Nearly 1,000 people rallied in SeaTac this weekend, marching to the Federal Detention Center to protest ICE detentions and call for stronger support for public education, student safety, and workers’ rights.
