Consummation is not required for marriage under ancient and modern Jewish law. The intimate act is a fulfillment.

@Eddie1968K To be sure, the simplest answer to your mystery is that the BOM is 19th century fiction. The plates were fake like the seer stones and goggles. The language and English dialect are fake. The dictation was that of a persuasive storyteller.

@Eddie1968K That's not an answer. That's evading the question. I'm assuming that JS translated the plates with accuracy as Writ should be. Appealing to mystery is fine in certain circumstances and this isn't one of them. It seems to me like evading.
