India has learnt this lesson during the in the joint su-57 development with Russia, and decided to leave, to pursue 5th gen Aircraft of it's own, due to these reasons

And since we started very late, transfer of technology is one of the methods we use to reach the self reliance goal, it's a long road but we will get there.

If India's aim was to get 6th gen Aircraft in future it could just buy it when it completes like in the case of rafale, france would be desperate to sell it to us anyways.

We aren't here just to fund it, we want to absorb tech and have significant work share.

For the First time, state owned HAL has been asked to step aside and the project is being given to a private consortium to speed up the development and bring efficiency.

We have learnt this lesson with the Russians FGFA, not going to repeat it.
We are not saudi or UAE with deep pockets, who are only there to fund.
India will negotiate harder than Germany was.

Rafale is 4th gen Aircraft and we are developing 5th gen AMCA, we are purchasing rafale as stop gap till AMCA develops

Ask the Russians about the su-57 co-development with india and why india left the program to develop 5th gen Aircraft on its own.

We aim to have significant work share in the development and absorb as much technology as we can for our own industry.

We can fund both programs, one for present one for future.

it's the sole reason for the establishment of defence industrial ecosystem in india and so many companies grew out of the program which supply components to it.
240 tejas are on order and we are working on mk2 variant as well.

@CaoszombeyG @aidefranceukr Just the usual problems with defence bureaucracy in india, they knew we needed to properly fund the aircraft from early on, yet waited so long and finally gave approval and released funding in 2024 when they determined it was feasible to build the prototype.

@CaoszombeyG @aidefranceukr Couldn't have been smooth with tejas cuz it was our first time developing an aircraft and we made the mistake of trying to develop the every subsystem on our own.
lol AMCA wouldn't have happened 10 year earlier cuz funds for it's development were released in 2024😭
