me: can I deposit some pennes
bank teller: that's a weird way to say pennies but yeah sure
me, already pulling handfuls of pasta out of my pockets: oh good thanks
I know it's a terrible impulse, but I'm finding it really difficult to not think that anyone stupid enough to believe Trump is an economic genius deserves everything that's coming.
I will make one prediction about this incoming administration. Every absolute moron who voted for Trump expecting him to magically bring prices back to pre-COVID levels is going to be in for the rudest awakening of their lives.
The Democratic Party holds a good portion of the blame for this. Whether it's because Biden even ran for a second term in the first place, or whether it's that there was no primary process, or whether it's the way in which they stumped in the last few months, I'm not sure.
@TMGR13 Won't change unless there's a massive shift in the way a whole shit ton of americans relate to politics, or until we change the broken electoral system.
problem is that the democrats do offer something better than trump---progressive ballot measures pass time and again.
But I think we need to stop handling the electorate with kid gloves. People who voted for Trump made this happen. Ordinary people, yes, are to blame. Whether it is negligent ignorance or cruel intent---because it is one of those things---Trump voters are to blame.
Doesn't really matter right now. There will be endless analyses about this. But they hold a lot of the blame irrespective of the specific reasons. They could not earn the votes of enough people.
white gen xers love commenting on their friends' food pics with like "can I come over" or "come cook for me ๐คฃ" or "save me a plate." they absolutely love that shit
