Canada, I’m warning you now.
When Carney signs that associate member deal with the EU, here’s what happens next, step by step.
First, Trump doesn’t wait.
He doesn’t send a diplomat.
He doesn’t call a summit.
He just acts. Energy gets hit first because that’s where Canada hurts most. Oil and gas flowing south slows down or stops.
Not because Trump hates Canada, but because it’s the fastest way to make the point that choosing Europe has a price.
Then it spreads. Autos, steel, aluminum, lumber, potash, beef.
Every sector that depends on the American markte feels it within weeks, not years.
The Canadian dollar drops.
Interest rates climb.
Provinces start cutting services because the money isn’t coming in like it used to.
Europe won’t save us. They’ll issue statements. They’ll hold meetings. They’ll say they’re standing with Canada.
But they can’t buy what we sell, they can’t ship it across the ocean at the same cost, and they can’t protect us if it turns into something worse than a trade fight.
An associate membership gives them influence over our rules without giving us anything that actually replaces what we’re losing.
And here’s the part that should scare you most.
This isn’t about one election or one prime minister.
It’s about whether Canada stays a country that controls its own future or become a place where outside powers decide what we can and can’t do.
The Monroe Doctrine was written 200 hundred years ago to keep Europe out.
Trump is using it now to keep everyone out, including us if we don’t play along.
You can call it fearmongering. You can call it politics. But the math doesn’t care what you call it.
Three out of four things we sell go south.
No deal with Brussels changes that. Not now, not in five years, not in twenty.
So before you cheer for this and lift your elbows higher ask the people selling it one simple question.
What exactly replaces the American market?
Because if they can’t answer that, they’re not leading. They’re just hoping you won’t notice.
We seem to be on a suicide mission and signing that Associate Membership with the EU is just tightening the noose!
This isn’t a game!
Every natural fibre in the old wardrobe has been replaced by a plastic that borrowed its name.
Fleece came off a sheep. The fleece in the shop comes out of a refinery, and the name is the only part of the sheep they kept.
Silk came out of a worm and lasted a lifetime. Nylon came out of a laboratory in 1938, and the first stockings laddered before the shop shut.
Leather came off a cow and went back to the cobbler after thirty years. Vegan leather is polyurethane sprayed onto a cloth, and it peels off in two.
Down came off a duck and filled the eiderdown. Hollowfibre is polyester, and it is called hollowfibre so nobody has to read the word polyester on a pillow.
Fur came off an animal and was handed down. Fake fur is acrylic, the fibre that goes up fastest when the sofa catches.
Horsehair stuffed that sofa and smouldered for a quarter of an hour. Foam stuffs it now, and the room is gone in three minutes.
A wool carpet lay on the floor for forty years. A nylon one shocks you at the door and goes to landfill by the tonne.
Every one of these was sold as progress, and every one was an oil company selling a cheaper version of an animal.
The animal is still making the original, on a hill, out of grass, for about £2 a year.
University debate: "The most vegan meal on earth is a grass-fed steak."
Vegan: "I'm sorry, I've read the motion three times. Is it a misprint?"
Anthropologist: "No."
Vegan: "You're going to stand in front of four hundred people and tell them a steak is vegan."
Anthropologist: "The most vegan. I'd like credit for the full claim."
Vegan: "It's a dead cow."
Anthropologist: "One. What did you have for lunch?"
Vegan: "A lentil and rice bowl. Nothing died for it."
Anthropologist: "It came off a ploughed field. Mice, voles, ground nests, every insect in it, cleared out several times a year by a machine the width of this stage. One bullock feeds a person for twelve months. I'm on one death. You lost count at the starter."
Vegan: "Those are accidents."
Anthropologist: "I'll let the voles know it wasn't personal."
Vegan: "Fine. The planet. Cattle take up enormous amounts of land."
Anthropologist: "Hill, rain and grass. Land no plough can touch. He eats what grew there by itself and nobody has to clear a thing. Your lentils needed the field emptied first."
Vegan: "We could rewild it."
Anthropologist: "With what?"
Vegan: "...Grazing animals."
Anthropologist: "I've brought some."
Vegan: "This is absurd. Humans can get everything they need from plants."
Anthropologist: "There's a lawn outside. Help yourself."
Vegan: "We can't digest grass."
Anthropologist: "He can. Four stomachs and a vat of bacteria. He's the only system on earth that gets everything out of a plant, and he hands it over as protein, iron and the B12 you're taking as a tablet."
Vegan: "So your argument is that the cow is vegan."
Anthropologist: "Strictly. Never touched meat in his life. I'm simply eating a plant-based diet that's been finished properly."
Vegan: "You cannot call that vegan."
Anthropologist: "Fewest deaths, no plough, no supplements. If you've a better word for what you were after, I'll use it."
Moderator: "Time."
Vegan: "I'd like the motion read out again."
Moderator: "It's still not a misprint."
Activist: Wool is cruelty. I haven't worn it in six years.
Farmer: What's the jacket?
Activist: Vegan fleece.
Farmer: What's it made of?
Activist: Recycled materials.
Farmer: Which materials?
Activist: Polyester.
Farmer: Oil, then.
Activist: Recycled oil.
Farmer: And when you wash it?
Activist: It goes in the machine like anything else.
Farmer: About half a million plastic fibres a load come back out. They go down the drain, into the river, into the fish. They've found it in blood, lungs, placentas and brains. Who's that cruel to?
Activist: At least nothing was held down and shaved for it.
Farmer: She gets a haircut once a year. Takes about two minutes. If I don't do it she overheats, gets maggots under the fleece and dies. Then she walks off and grows another one out of grass.
Activist: She can't consent.
Farmer: No. She's a sheep. Did the fish?
Activist: That's different.
Farmer: It is. Mine rots in a field in a year. Yours will still be here when the pair of us are archaeology.
Activist: So what am I supposed to wear?
Farmer: She's got a jumper going spare every June. Nobody else wants it.
@Yuna23336wj Nah, what incites Islamophobia is Muslim extremists, and their cock holster sympathisers saying that their shit is acceptable, and the rest of us have to accommodate that shit
@CivicAffairsx1 A. YES, not only do I support it, I'll be watching with a bowl of popcorn and a cold beer. The fact that Muslims and their supporters are outraged is just a bonus
@RepPressley Of course you would say that. You don't give a shit about any of the people who get murdered by your Islamic extremist buddies, and stay silent when they video their attacks for the world to see, but you think THIS is wrong? You're what's wrong with America
