i don't understand this economy when nursing homes are so expensive they bankrupt our grandparents but nursing home aides need to use food banks.
daycare is so expensive it eats up one parent's entire paycheck and yet daycare providers only make $10/hr and need second jobs.
I suspect that many autistic people struggle with Alexithymia because people often mislabel our differently presenting emotions, and thus many of us haven’t received helpful guidance with reading our emotions or had our emoting externally validated to the extent many people have.
"A key finding was that a reduction in restrictive and repetitive behaviors during elementary school was linked to the emergence of mental health challenges, lending support to the idea that these behaviors may benefit autistic individuals."
Is alexithymia an "Autistic trait" or is it just that the masking neuronormative society demands of Autistic people requires us to dissociate from our emotions and teaches us that having feelings is futile because they'll be disregarded -- if not punished...?
When you’re Autistic/ADHD, having lots of little tasks on the horizon hanging over you can be depleting. Simply knowing that you’ve got a phone this afternoon, an appointment tomorrow, a work deadline another day and then errands at the weekend can take up a lot of mental energy.
It has been estimated that for each positive comment a child with ADHD receives, they are given fifteen negative or hurtful ones. It’s no wonder people with ADHD are more likely to have low self-esteem and struggle more with criticism and rejection.
Please please please let this catch on like wildfire
If the @UAW wins this provision of their contract it will start to filter into every other sector of the economy.
