@skamille I find that people that humbly, and without fanfare, do excellent work as managers get overlooked. What's a good way to fix that? Is there a good process you've seen? I'm tired of loud leaders tbh.
@mekkaokereke Fun fact I made the places API where you can make up a place and set yourself to it. The entire Geo team was located in their mom's basement for a while.
As an ex-Tweep, if any msft, aapl, meta, or goog exec is reading this clown show, if you want to be the hero of a story and generate easy revenue, hire the ads, marketing, and eng team that are quitting and build it again. You'll be remembered. @leslieberland as CEO.
Anyone who is departing Twitter or Stripe, please DM me if you would like to work on Elastic Search and broadly on our search infrastructure at GitHub!
@skamille I would love to see the kinds of information you can glean out of notifications in your alerting systems. I feel this is information that's overlooked in observability systems. And honestly the most valuable since it's curated through tons of tribal knowledge.
@skamille Most companies have a or multiple (manageable number) of service frameworks or local proxies that emit pretty standard metrics. Those metrics almost always have service identifiers in them and 1:1 map them to a pagerduty rotation. Which means you can mine pagerduty for owners.
