@alucennia The succession of Winterfell in particular is fraught because we don’t know whether Bran’s kingship encompasses the whole country, a single kingdom, or something more metaphysical. Post-Long Night discussion is generally a game of speculation where certainties do not exist.
@sultanerys (7) And of course, death of the author. What GRRM writes may not align with his original intention but it exists, and there is a legitimate criticism to be made against him and authors of his generation for their orientalist writing. I hope to see it improve in TWOW.
@sultanerys (6) I’ll clarify that this isn’t an attack on Dany as a character—rather the world around her. It disappoints me that GRRM has not given the same level of care to Essos as he did Westeros, given Dany’s story spends so long there.
@alucennia You know, someone once told me that time is a flat circle. Every discourse we’ve ever seen, we’re see over and over and over again. Forever.
“I’m not a star. I’m a dragon.”
“Of course you are a star, child. Where do you think dragons first came? Born of the burning stars fallen from the sky.”
