@EllaBuffalo I definitely think I am impacted by this. Being on Instagram or Snapchat and getting pop up ads about societal issues makes it hard to escape the bias.

Do you think it’s possible for an article to be completely and utterly true? If a plethora of sides needs to be examined for the full truth to be spilled?
@noa_chamberlin This is a super interesting point. I think that people want to believe certain things even if they aren’t true. This is why people gravitate towards fake news because it says what they want to hear. The truth hurts. #uwj201 #306
@nevburleton This is a super interesting question. I think we could, but that we won’t. I think this due to the fact that society is so engulfed in money and profit that this selfishness has taken over the human instinct to just share without reward. #uwj201 #302
@Evpall7 I think that these algorithms are beneficial to brands that are being promoted, but that this isn’t beneficial for obtaining new knowledge or widening peoples perspectives. Seeing only what you want to see helps no one. #302
@arosenfeld_ No, because media is biased, censored and media workers decide what/how to broadcast information. They have this heightened power that most people do not have. The media can control what they put out there for control what influence the media has on people. #302
The video included in this weeks reading talked about how humans are born story tellers from painting on cave walls to the start of television. Why do you think story telling is such an important and engrained part of human nature? #UWJ201 #302
