@MichelleMaxwell I don’t want to see any female singer, regardless of age, on stage wearing lingerie. I agree with you - a woman whose ‘got it’ should never feel the need to ‘show it off’ in public. A sharp dressed women is sexy and adds a little mystery - which is also very sexy.
@BrobsonTweets Paraguay was one of the strongest defensive teams in CONMEBOL qualifying and we scored 4 goals on them. Brazil beat them 1-0. This win was impressive!
Sellout crowd at the Rate last night as the first place White Sox (still early, but still hard to believe) beat up on the Dodgers. A couple of my North Side friends wandered South to join in on the fun. Let’s keep it rolling today! #WhiteSox#MLB
Euros get 6 weeks and a ton of holidays. That certainly doesn’t happen here. A new trend - larger companies are moving to ‘unlimited vacation’ policies. My last 3 companies - all software companies - had unlimited. The reason being, if you have a set number of days (say 3 weeks), employees can accrue unused vacation every year. If you leave a company, they have to pay you at your salary rate for those days. It becomes a financial liability for larger companies. With unlimited, if you leave, you receive no compensation for vacation. While it sounds great, people tend to take around the same amount of time they would get it they had, say, 2-3 weeks per year - or even less. People tend to police themselves.
My entire family/extended family have passports and travel. For example, in 2024, I traveled to the Dominican Republic, London, Rome, Malta, Canada and Mexico City. The latter two for work, but the rest were vacations. That being said, many Americans just travel domestically. I believe this is for 3 main reasons: 1) So much to see in the US + can drive everywhere. 2) Hesitation traveling on a plane 7+ hours to a foreign country for the first time (once they do, they plan more int’l trips but need to do that first trip). 3) The cost of international flights is expensive for middle America compared to domestic flights, especially familles.
Trade news: The Philadelphia Phillies are acquiring center fielder Derek Hill and international bonus money from the Chicago White Sox for outfield prospect Dylan Campbell and infield prospect Jose Colmenares, sources tell ESPN.
Hill has played well but now that B. Montgomery is here, he was expendable. Peters has been great in CF and they have a good right handed bat with Grichuk. When Mune comes back, he might play more DH; Gonzalez has been awesome at 1B. Bottom line: Grichuk’s bat Vs LHP is more valuable than Hill’s bat.
@elsathora You could drive to Orlando, go to Disney’s EPCOT park, have drinks at any number of ‘countries’ and watch the 9pm firework show from the American Pavilion.
Runners at 1st and 3rd, 1 out with a 2-0 count and @whitesox bunt…again?! Sox have tried to bunt on 3 different at bats tonight…3x too many. Swing the bats and beat the Braves!
@sweetcarolinatv My guess is if you saw the fireworks at 9pm, they were from EPCOT. The better fireworks are the Magic Kingdon at 10pm. You a still catch those fireworks tonight. 😊
@courtney883 Okay, that makes sense. Hopefully, we can get everyone healthy (Teel, Mune, Schultz, etc) and watch the young core playing together by the end of July. That would make for an exciting second half of the season.
@hullcharleyx Great round, Charley! Tomorrow’s game plan should be to get a couple of early birdies to put pressure on Nelly and the leaders. Get some rest tonight - good luck tomorrow!
@sweetcarolinatv The riot in Paris on Saturday was after celebrations over Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League victory turned ugly. Unfortunately, we’ve seen the same thing in the States - people use winning a championship as a reason to destroy property.
@wischlist@aelfred_D Have been to Malta and Greece (Athens, Paros and Santorini). Both are highly recommended but Greece was the best place/vacation we’ve ever visited. In Santorini, we know a woman who has a great airbnb and planned our entire trip. Our patio view was amazing.
