Competence should be placed above a need for 'diversity', every single time.

In the NHS, local councils or wherever else - diversity 'officers' provide zero value.

I couldn't care less about a person's skin colour, I care about whether they can effectively do their job.

And raising the Junior Doctors pay by £4 an hour is unaffordable, even though they just raised MP's pay by £5 an hour.

The central question isn't whether swathes of well paid diversity officers provide value within the NHS (I think not).

It's about whether those funds could be better spent elsewhere in order to deliver an improved service for patients.
