Jaylen Brown keeps running into controversy.
Nike dropped him after he spoke out.
He was left off Team USA despite being an NBA Finals MVP.
Even Beverly Hills had to apologize for shutting down his party.
This is a man who interned at NASA, negotiated his own contract, and represents the kind of educated, independent Black man people say they want as a role model.
Yet look at how he’s treated.
I’m sitting here watching @stephenasmith talk about IU vs. Miami on @FirstTake and what each program’s storyline would mean to the college football landscape. And something stood out immediately. When he talks about Miami, the conversation is about legacy.
Miami winning reinforces an existing legacy. Indiana winning creates a new one. And that’s the more important story for college football, whether people want to admit it or not.
as someone who went from being an avid sports fan to credentialed media, i can speak from experience when i say they do not want US in these media rooms.
You can literally feel it sometimes in these rooms, just by the looks certain people give you, as if you didn’t put in the work to earn your spot.
There’s so many old GRUMPY robotic dinosaurs in sports media hanging onto their credentials for dear life and they hate to see this seismic SHIFT in sports media, because the way sports are being covered has evolved so much and those dinosaurs have not.
Thank you Lynn Jones for being a REAL ONE and shaking the table. You have all these media herbs telling on themselves! 🫡
Lynn Jones Turnpin responded to the critics in an interview today:
“Support the Black Press. You can call me fake all you want to, honey. I’ve been doing this a long time.”
I see there’s a bunch of jealous, miserable journalists out there. Lmao. But we already knew that! It’s ok to demean and ask dumb questions after a team’s loss, But how dare you encourage the team you report for. Lmao. That’s why half of you get no respect. @SafetyFirstPd
I love that Pablo releases part of the story to make the people involved scramble to deny it, only to then release more information and evidence that makes those denials look weak.
