Dear motorist
who just passed by our house
I realize that the night was dark
and the road was long and winding
and our driveway, also dark

-quite suddenly-
from the woods
this I know
I did not realize
-to my regret-
that I
myself
my tiny person
Georgetown Law has told a pregnant student whose baby is due during exams that she must take the test a few days postpartum, with baby in tow.
No early or remote exam since “it would be inequitable to all the other non-birthing students in her class.”

women died because they received no life saving care as they were having miscarriages in Georgia and the state responded by simply eradicating the committee that investigated deaths of pregnant women.
I know everyone is talking about Matt Gaetz but please don't miss this:
Georgia fired every single person on its maternal mortality review committee. Why? They didn't like that reporters found out that the state's ban killed two women

i hold extremist political views such as "people should have their basic needs met" and "war crimes are bad" and "we should not accelerate the apocalypse for the profits of a few oil companies"
Congress is working to pass a bill that would have a devastating, chilling effect on free speech and give the Trump administration power to strip tax-exempt status from nonprofits without due process or even a clear explanation (1/3).
As someone who studied health and healthcare in Guatemala, this sounds awful familiar
T minus two years until these “clinics” are provided by “missionaries” and pre-med volunteers with zero medical training
Dr. Oz said the uninsured “don’t have the right to health,” but should be given “a way of crawling back out of the abyss” with “15-minute physicals” provided by the government “in a festival like setting.”
@othingstodo_com not just us, also the dogs
we just ran free and it was expected we’d be home by dark
“go play outside and don’t come home unless someone is bleeding” was a common refrain
What radicalized me? Working in two Ivy League data-driven policy labs. They want to help, but have no idea how. These people genuinely believed being poor is a behavioral issue.
Just a reminder to the people still here:
Kamala had a plan to lower food costs, cut student debt, 25k help with buying a first home, 6K for a new baby, 3K a year to help with children, a plan to make housing more available by blocking private equity from buying homes, and
4yo: I like pizza
beau: you are what you eat, so your middle name is “pizza”!
4yo’s teacher: when questioned during the exam, your daughter informed us her last name is “Pizza”, so we marked it down as an area of concern
@queerBengali love, if you’re looking for information about the long-term effects of COVID, you can find scores of papers for yourself with a quick Google scholar search
or you can keep tweeting out your a**, dealer’s choice
nothing like being wrong loudly, it’s fun, I know
@queerBengali or maybe the reason so many PhDs and MD/PhDs are still worried about COVID is because we pay attention to the studies coming out that say…we should still be worried about COVID
I mean, speak for yourself, but personally I am, like, super fond of my vascular system
because, as he told me “if it lands on black three times OF COURSE it’ll land on white the next time, that’s just math, I don’t know why everyone hasn’t figured this out”
of the 3 people I know personally who definitely would have voted for Trump
one asked me whether a penguin was a mammal
one asked me why I “didn’t stop the volcano” while I was in Guatemala, since I’m “a scientist”
and one gambles actual money and thinks he’s an actual genius
