@M_J_Schofield@NolanAnalyst Yes that would be silly because he is not part of the narrative so that is a daft thing to say.
Helen *is* part of the narrative, will be so in Nolan's version, and her skin colour is irrelevant to her role in that narrative.
What rule is broken by her being black?
@M_J_Schofield@NolanAnalyst She wasn't real, and in the mythology her dad was a swan and she hatched from an egg. Surely you can suspend some disbelief?
@grlontheright@NolanAnalyst It's not historical fiction...it's a myth. One of the characters is literally a whirlpool, and another turns into fog. There are giants. There is a big dude with one eye. What are you on about?
As a new father who just watched my partner beast her way through labour and childbirth on an empty stomach and without the possibility of rest, I cannot think of a single moment where I was craving a bowl of penne and the ability to stretch out for a kip.
Giving birth is obviously an incredibly challenging experience for the mother - trust me, nobody is denying that. I do think though, that fathers should be shown more respect by the NHS during the whole process.
No food provided, no basic bedding, nothing.
The father is having a child too - potentially staying multiple nights, sleeping on the floor or a chair?
If the NHS can find hundreds of millions for translation/interpretation and the rest of the diversity bullshit, then surely a few campbeds in each ward isn't such an impossible investment? A bowl of pasta for the dad, who does actually pay for that meal through his own taxes?
I've asked the Department of Health to reconsider their approach.
It would be nice if fathers weren't treated as some awkward afterthought, during the process and so often across wider society.
Let's give dads the respect they deserve.
Agree. People are perpetually online, and have become inured to a manner of communication which is simplistic, coarse, and unequivocal. Anyone who obfuscates is part of the problem. Farage knows this, and it's working for him. Starmer et al don't and they're toast.
I do wonder if Labour might look at the sorts of people dominating the discourse and dominating the content wars and maybe, just maybe, rethink the sorts of figures they routinely put up for interviews, instructed to be as cautious as possible. Politics has changed. Their comms hasn’t.
This unacceptable.
Perverse decisions like this are adding to the anger that people feel and amplifying the belief that there isn’t a dispassionate criminal justice system.
As mayor of London I will ban all external (political and non political) motivated protests that do not have a direct impact on our country, our people or capital. I repeat… Any motivated protests with an external narrative will be banned with immediate effect!
‘Only’ Internally motivated protests that have a direct impact on our people and on our lands will be allowed…
Things like tax rises. Corp tax went up 5% over night (from 20-25%) and no one battered an eye lid. Inheritance tax, any form of taxation in general, Ulez, hotels & funding for illegals, budget cuts, transport, the list goes on! Real issues and concerns from within our great nation will be welcomed and encouraged in a peaceful manner! #KhanOut #AntMiddletonIn 🫡🇬🇧
