@LeeGoaltending Was a great read! Blues fan here and didn’t have much info on him until this. Got drafted in the CHL import draft to Victoria today so should be nice to see him against increased competition!
@JustinScottx89 I’m really not worried about the $4M cap hit for 1 year. Much rather have the security on the 3rd pair considering how miserable it has been to watch Tucker. Great value for a 7th rounder but man sometimes he is so lost in the D zone.
@vesscola We don’t need more 1st line forwards??? What’re you saying??? The logic isn’t even consistent. We traded for someone with true 70 point potential, 2C, 200 ft game, with leadership. We drafted a probable middle six physical player with a high upside shot at 16.
@STLBlake19 You are the most emotional Blues fan ever. Let’s Jiricek DEVELOP in the AHL and be the best D man on that roster. Learn the pro game while getting top pair minutes. Carlo can be a shut down third pairing guy on a team that had a dreadful third pair last year with Tucker.
@pensivejames@CivilWarBlues Has 15 less points than Matty Beniers in 27 less games, and what’s your point? “Wasted first rounders”? You do realize after pick 10 a first round picks likelihood of playing over 100+ games which is barely over 1 full season is drops off drastically right?
@TSUED1975@ArtLippo2 The front office had the choice of both at 16. Chose Maddox Deganais. Trust our scouting staff more than I trust “who you wanted”. Didn’t know you spent all year watching the prospects in person
@DKleinstuber Bingo. The lack of faith in a front office that just took a chance on two Edmonton prospects both the same age as Mctavish who were being undervalued and underutilized is truly unbelievable to me. But I forgot all the keyboard GM’s have done all the tape so they must know better.
@vesscola Took a chance on two players Edmonton wasn’t developing correctly and is currently making them stars. 1st line Holloway, top pair Broberg. Just because someone else failed their development doesn’t mean you now have scraps. He’s 23. Same age as the offer sheets when we got them.
@vesscola This rhetoric is driving me nuts. This draft was weak past the top 15 ish. Back half of the first is never a slam dunk NHL’er, definitely not one with the upside of Mctavish. He has 70 point potential, and if anyone should be trusted it should be the front office that…
@bloozerz@ArtLippo2 You are the most pessimistic blues fan I’ve seen on this app. Every prospect is a future 4th liner, and every young guy playing is a bust.
@stlanalytics I’m just saying. Rarely does a rookie break out in the NHL. I just think it’s a very rushed view, and honestly even if he was just a 3rd liner the majority of his career I’d still be happy. But you can tell he has it. He showed it at the Olympics playing against the best.
@shughes_14@stlanalytics I can absolutely agree his season has been majorly underwhelming, but again, he is a rookie. Rarely does a rookie blow up the league. You need to stop watching Bedard, Cellebrini, and Schaefer.
@shughes_14@stlanalytics If we want to keep Thomas? Thomas never asked to be moved. We were the ones dangling him out there. God forbid a 20 year old isn’t a 2nd line center in his rookie season. Yes his skating isn’t elite. What about Kopitar and Barkov? Their skating has always been subpar.
@shughes_14@stlanalytics What in the hell are you talking about dude? Rookie in the AHL last year, all star. Rookie in the NHL this year, stud at the Olympics, and you want to trade him? Absolutely brainless.
