🇮🇷 The state funeral of Ayatollah Khamenei, killed in a joint U.S.-Israeli airstrike on his compound in February, begins this Friday July 4th

Ceremonies run through July 9th across Tehran, Qom and Mashhad, with his body traveling to Iraq for processions in Najaf and Karbala before burial at the Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad.

Authorities are preparing for up to 35 million attendees, potentially surpassing Khomeini's 1989 funeral which drew 10.2 million in Tehran alone and still holds the Guinness record for largest funeral in history.
