@Austen Sure, except that they by definition encourage huge risk-taking to achieve that growth. So far Elon and team have succeeded in so many things but failures are possible. Tesla's valuation is driven by expected future growth; failures could cause re-rate and value destruction.
@justindross What’s also interesting — and more to your point about farmers being sharp — is that they invented hedging / therefore derivatives to try to control for some of these issues. They’re also a great model of insourcing and self-reliance.
@zachary1978@JigarShahDC Oil wells flow for decades after the initial capital is spent, too. There are wells >100 years old still producing in places like Ohio and Pennsylvania.
@Angry_Staffer@rjgeller Isn't it the case that in a two-party system, the losing/weaker party will simply adjust its platform to keep things competitive? Your argument and statements like "demographics are destiny" seem to be blindly partisan and not thoughtful.
@Noahpinion He casually invents things, like "aligning with local despotic regimes to encircle Beijing". Primary countries of focus are democratic Japan, SK, Taiwan, India, Aus. Repeat rhetoric of inexorable Chinese rise, as their GDP growth falls to 3% at best and pop shrinks
After a childhood of waiting for and furious summer consumption of HP novels, I was spoiled to discover and have 4 Strike books to crank through back-to-back during quarantine...how long the next four months will feel. But it's a return to tradition! @jk_rowling
@jmrivera02 Hey man -- just a heads-up to check your GoT timing comment here...I don't think August 2017 (when it last aired) was over two years ago https://t.co/sPvorrsdJq
Pres. Obama: Democracy demands getting inside "the reality of people who are different than us."
"You can't do it if you insist that those who aren't like you because they're white, or because they're male...that somehow they lack standing to speak on certain matters."
@CeylanWrites Good article, thanks, and hate to nitpick -- but check the use of "historic" vs. "historical" in your fourth sentence. Would think it should be the latter here.
